Park and Stride

On Thursday 16th November, children were asked to walk, scoot or cycle to school as part of the ‘Park and Stride’ campaign which has been set up to help reduce congestion around the school and promote healthy lifestyles amongst our children. Those children and parents who took part on the day did a fantastic job and were rewarded with stickers from Basil the Bird when they successfully completed the journey! Thank you to all those who participated.

Fit and fun on the school run

If you live within the green, ten minute walking zone, you may find it quicker to walk to school than to drive and have to find a parking space.

If you live beyond walking distance and have to drive, please consider park and stride to help make it safer around the school gates.

When parking on the street, always get your children out of the car on the pavement side.

It is recommended that children exercise for at least 60 minutes per day and walking to 2 school is a great way to do this. Reminders Parent Reminder Clubs Asthma and Food Allergies

Mrs Rowe 3 Year 2 trip to Beaulieu Motor Museum

Year 2 trip to the Beaulieu Motor Museum

On Wednesday 1st of November we went to Beaulieu Motor Museum. We saw lots of old cars from the past. We went to see cars because it is our topic. When we arrived we put our stuff away. Then we went into a large theatre and a lady taught us about cars. Next we had a tour of the museum. We saw lots of cars and saw Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. My favourite car is Chitty Chitty Bang Bang because it flies in the sky. We also went on the Wheels ride and it told us about the history of cars. It fun. Next we went to a room and had lunch and I had sandwiches and mini cheddars. After we finished lunch we went on a car and it was called Gumdrop. The colour was blue and it was really fun. It had no roof or windows. Then we went on the monorail. It was really high and it went really slow. Next we went on the double-decker bus and it was red. Then we went into Top Gear and we saw Stig and some cars. Lastly we went on the coach and saw lots of horses.

Year 3 Harvest festival assembly

Year 3 enjoyed performing their Harvest assembly to parents on Friday 13th October. It is always quite daunting to stand in front of the whole school, especially for some of the children who had only been in the school for 6 weeks. However the children spoke clearly about the many colours that fruit and vegetables come in. They enjoyed singing the usual favourites and introduced a new song “Healthy Habanera” to the school. Our thanks go out to all those who contributed food. The contributions have been delivered to the local food bank in Hythe. Year 3 are now looking forward to the 18th December when they get to perform their Samba concert to invited parents! 4 KS2 Singing Workshop
