Wise County Messenger Obituaries 2002 Last Names H-Q The following obituaries are in alphabetical order by last name. Hachtel, Robert L. 1912-2002 Service for Robert L. Hachtel, 89, of Alvord, was held Monday, May 27 at the First Baptist Church of Sunset with Dr. Ray Vowell officiating. Burial was in Ball Knob Cemetery. Hachtel died Saturday, May 25, 2002, in Decatur. He was born Nov. 2, 1912, in Bowie. He was married to the late Mary Kathleen Cason on May 31, 1940. Hachtel served in World War II with the 818th Division of the Army Air Corp. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Sunset. He is survived by two sons, Robert L. Hachtel Jr. of Alvord and Neal Eugene Hachtel of Decatur; a daughter, Kay Brashear of Dallas; a brother, Roland H. Hachtel of Seattle, Wash.; two sisters, Cora Earp and Mora Barton, both of Fort Worth; five grandchildren, Ryan Hachtel, Jimmie Morales, Jammie Parker, Laura Brashear and Helena Brashear; and two great- grandchildren, Hayden and Sidney Parker. Pallbearers were Jeff Jackson, Charlie Thomason, Charlie Jones, Biff Huddleston, Louie Lowrance, Kenneth Howerton, D.J. Rater, Jack Garrison, Frank Odom and Jim Metcalf. Wise County Messenger, May 30, 2002 Hall, George Leon 1917-2002 Graveside service for George Leon Hall, 85, of Bridgeport was to be Saturday, Aug. 3, at 1 p.m. at East Bridgeport Cemetery. Chaplain Brent Phinney was to officiate. Hall died Thursday, Aug. 1, 2002, in Bridgeport. Born Jan. 23, 1917, in Bokchito, Okla, he had lived in the Bridgeport area for the past 33 years. He had the nickname of “Windshield Wiper.” He was preceded in death by his wife, Geneva in 1994; two sons, Leon in 1975 and Earnest in 1965 and his parents, Frank and Alice Hall. He is survived by two sons, Donald Hall and wife Jane of Bridgeport and Wesley Hall and wife Beverly of Chico; two daughters, Rebekah Miller and husband Norman of Bowie and Deborah Greston and husband Gino of Decatur; 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Wise County Messenger, August 4, 2002 Hall, Martha Ann 1938-2002 Service for Martha Ann Hall, 63, of Newark was Monday, Jan. 28, at White’s Funeral Home in Springtown. Burial followed at Dido Cemetery. Hall died Friday, Jan. 25, 2002, in Newark. Born Aug. 9, 1938, in Newark, she was a homemaker and former Avon representative. She was preceded in death by her father, Bill Davis. She is survived by her husband, Jackie Ray Hall; a daughter, Sharon Thompson and husband LeRoy; her mother, Lois Davis; two sisters, Carolyn Krebbs and Pat Lewis; a brother, Alan Davis; eight grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Wise County Messenger, Jan. 31, 2002 Hamilton, Robert W. ‘Bob’, Sr. 1936-2002 Service for Robert W. “Bob” Hamilton, 65, of Chico will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 6, at First Free Will Baptist Church in Bowie with the Revs. Larry Cox of the First Free Will Baptist Church in Bowie, Kenneth Wood of the Crafton Baptist Church in Crafton and Eddie “Bo” Johnson of the Worship Temple Church in Chico officiating. Burial will be in the Newport Cemetery in Newport. Hamilton died June 3, 2002, in Bowie. He was born October 10, 1936, in Freer. He married Patricia “Patti” Jones on Sept. 19, 1975, in Weatherford. Hamilton worked at Nash Hardware in Fort Worth for several years before he went to work for the James Giesecke U.S. Sport Sales in Hurst. In 1989 he moved to Chico and began ranching at the Fat H Ranch. In March 1999 he founded Gospel Hall in Bowie and operated it until December 2001. He was a member of the First Free Will Baptist Church. Hamilton is survived by his wife, Patti Hamilton of Chico; a daughter, Deanie Berry of Fort Worth; two sons, Robert W. Hamilton Jr. of Anahuac and Johnny B. Hamilton of Fort Worth; seven grandchildren, Jeanene Hendriz of Alvord, Nichole Duffield of Fort Worth, Byron Berry of Fort Worth, Robert Hamilton III of Burleson, Chelsea Hamilton of Smithfield, Megan Hamilton of Coppell and Conrad Hamilton of Coppell; a sister, Mary Ropers of Burleson; a brother David Reese of Flower Mound and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be David Reese, Robert Hamilton Jr., Robert Hamilton III, Brian Duffield, Byron Berry and John Hamilton. Wise County Messenger, June 6, 2002 Hamm, Ina Mae 1920-2002 Service for Ina Mae Hamm, 81, of Decatur was Tuesday, Feb. 19, at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Chapel in Colleyville. Burial followed at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park. Hamm died Saturday, Feb. 16, 2002, in Decatur. Born June 29, 1920, she was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Hamm and a son, Clarence Hamm. Hamm died Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2002, in Fort Worth. Born March 29, 1924, in Fort Worth, she was a homemaker. She married Rauls Weldon Hamm March 31, 1941, in Weatherford. She was preceded in death by her husband. She is survived by one son, Richard Hamm of Burleson; two daughters, Paula Lowery of Haltom City and Joyce Bennett of Burleson; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Burial followed at Dallas/Fort Worth National Cemetery. Hammond died Monday, Feb. 18, 2002, in Dallas. Born Feb. 17, 1928, in Flint, Mich., he was a carpenter. He was a member of the Central Baptist Church in Bowie, the VFW Post 8789 in Bowie and The American Legion. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Arline Hammond; a son, George Hammond and a brother, Clar Hammond. He is survived by his wife, Helen E. Michael Wiltcher officiated. Burial followed at Hog Branch Cemetery near Boyd. Hancock died Saturday, Aug. 17, 2002, in Chico. Born Nov. 3, 1938, in Mize, Miss., he was a retired printer and had lived in the Paradise community since 1976. He married Dorothy Jean Hudson on Oct. 14, 1967, in Jackson, Miss. He was a member of the Victory Family Church in Decatur. He was preceded in death by his wife in May 2002; his parents, Clifton and Winnie Hancock and a sister, Peggy Hankins. He is survived by four daughters, Becky King and husband Dale of Forest, Miss., Debbie Johnson of Fort Worth, Darlene Lindsey and husband Larry of Chico and Judy Scroggins and husband Russell of Boyd; a son, Billy Turner and wife Lisa of Sweeney; 10 grandchildren, Renea Shepard and husband David, Dwayne Taylor and wife Marsha, Sammy Taylor, Amber Galloway and husband Rowdy, Steven and Greg Denney, Aubrey Turner, Stancy Denney, Keri Turner and Robert Dale King; five great-grandchildren, Jason, Jasmine, Rebekah, Zara and Gabe Taylor; a brother, Allen Hancock of Columbus, Miss.; a sister, Ruby Mulvihill of Memphis, Tenn., and several nieces and nephews. Allen Bates, Chaplain Gentry Castleman and the Rev. John Hancock officiating. Burial was in Hog Branch Cemetery. Hancock died Saturday, May 18, 2002, in Bridgeport. She was born Feb. 20, 1945, in Clarksdale, Miss. She married Carroll Hancock Oct. 14, 1967, in Jackson, Miss. She was a member of Victory Family Church.
