She is survived by a daughter, Bobby Cluck of Chester; a stepdaughter, Mary Springston of Jay, Okla.; a son, Dennis Jones of Van Buren, a stepson, Robert Ramey of Tulsa, Okla.; three sisters, Ruby Starnes of Fort Worth and Helen Spanglo and Rosa Adams, both of Decatur; 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and two great-great- grandchildren. Range died Monday, Aug. 15, 2005, in Decatur. Born April 9, 1923, in Electra, she was the oldest of two children of D.K. and Tillie Smith. She graduated from Electra High School and attended Texas Woman’s State Teacher’s College and Texas Tech where she met and married her Marine Corps husband James on Jan. 31, 1942. She received her bachelor of arts degree from Sul Ross University and immediately began teaching at Wink Elementary School.
