Ramey, Mary 1926-2005 Funeral for Mary Jane Ramey, 79, of Van Buren, Ark.was Aug. 9, in Van Buren. Bural followed at Hall Cemetery near Natural Dam. Ramey died Friday, Aug. 5, 2005, in Van Buren. She was born March 5, 1926. She retired as a cook at Cedarville Senior Citizens and was a member of the Shamrock Community Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hershcel Ramey. She is survived by a daughter, Bobby Cluck of Chester; a stepdaughter, Mary Springston of Jay, Okla.; a son, Dennis Jones of Van Buren, a stepson, Robert Ramey of Tulsa, Okla.; three sisters, Ruby Starnes of Fort Worth and Helen Spanglo and Rosa Adams, both of Decatur; 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and two great-great- grandchildren. Published Thursday, August 18, 2005 Range, Ruby Louise 1923-2005 A memorial service for Ruby Louise Range, 82, of Decatur will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, at Coker Funeral Home in Decatur. Range died Monday, Aug. 15, 2005, in Decatur. Born April 9, 1923, in Electra, she was the oldest of two children of D.K. and Tillie Smith. She graduated from Electra High School and attended Texas Woman’s State Teacher’s College and Texas Tech where she met and married her Marine Corps husband James on Jan. 31, 1942. She received her bachelor of arts degree from Sul Ross University and immediately began teaching at Wink Elementary School. Beginning in 1962, she taught in the American Community School and the Oil Companies elementary school systems in Tripoli, Benghazi and Marsha el Brega, Libya. She also served as head mistress of the International School in Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia. Upon retirement, she and her husband moved to Decatur in 1978. She was preceded in death by her husband. She is survived by her brother, Billy D. Smith of Atwater, Calif.; her children, James and Jane Range Jr. of Ashland, Ky., Al and D’Ann Range Mullis of Fresno, Calif., Fritz and Diane Range of Argyle and Michael Range of Decatur; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Published Thursday, August 18, 2005 Ratliff, Jacqueline LaPant 1929-2005 Funeral for Jacqueline LaPant Ratliff, 76, of Runaway Bay was to be at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 23, at Hawkins Funeral Home in Bridgeport. The Rev. Craig Wills was to officiate. Burial was to follow at Eternal Oaks Cemetery in Runaway Bay. Ratliff died Monday, July 18, 2005, in Benicia, Calif. Born Feb. 18, 1929, in Highland Park, Mich., she was a homemaker. She was a longtime resident of Runaway Bay and an artist who painted and traveled. She was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Ray Ratliff. She is survived by her son, Barry Larkin and wife, Carla; four grandchildren, Ken Larkin, Levi Larkin, Breeanna Larkin and Gracie Larkin; a brother, Roger LaPant; two stepsons, Larry Ratliff and David Ratliff; two stepgrandchildren, Whitney Ratliff and Bill Ratliff; and numerous nieces and nephews. Burial followed at Paradise Cemetery. Read died Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2005, in Chico. Born Feb. 12, 1947, to Ralph and Juanita Chilton in Decatur she was a teacher for the Chico Independent School District. She was preceded in death by a son, Vance Read, and a daughter, Lindsay Diane Read. She is survived by her husband, Gary Read, of Chico; two sons, Brad Read and wife, Karla, of Springtown, and Mike Read and wife, Stacie, of Bridgeport; two granddaughters, Lexie and Taite Read; and one sister, Carolyn Cain and husband, Bob. The Revs. B.J. Rutledge and David Adair officiated. Burial followed in Chico Cemetery. Reasoner died Friday, Sept. 16, 2005, in Decatur. He was born June 27, 1981, in Fort Worth, to David Ray and Belinda Roberts Reasoner. He was an oilfield worker. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Willard Reasoner and Harold Roberts. He is survived by his parents; one brother, Tyler Trey Reasoner of Paradise; grandmothers Dolores Butler of Paradise and Joyce Reasoner of Chico; an aunt and uncle, Steve and Judy Arnold of Fort Worth; and numerous cousins. Reese died Saturday, June 11, 2005, in Aurora. Born Jan. 5, 1932, in Aurora, he was a retired machinist. He married Katie Applegate on Aug. 6, 1982, in Fort Worth. He is survived by his wife; his mother, Wyolon Reese of Aurora and a sister, Alice Anderson of Fort Worth. Thomas O. Brumett will officiate. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery. Reeves died Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2005, in Belmont, Calif. Born Sept. 22, 1912, in Pleasant View, Mo., to Charles and Neva Norman she was a retired kindergarden teacher. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women Organization, Order of the Eastern Star, Decatur Community Hospital Auxillary and Friends of the Decatur Public Library. She was an honorary member of the Decatur Woman’s Club. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Barton Reeves; and three brothers, Donald, Vernon and Lloyd Norman. She is survived by a sister, Irene Fee and husband, James. Published Sunday, October 2, 2005 Rhodes, Iva Ruth Read 1912-2005 Funeral for Iva Ruth Read Rhodes, 92, of Paradise will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 14, at the First United Methodist Church of Paradise. The Rev. Walt Rowell will officiate. Burial will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Laurel Land Cemetery. Visitation was to be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Bridgeport. Rhodes died Monday, July 11, 2005, in Decatur. Born Oct. 17, 1912, in Paradise she was a retired secretary. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Paradise and the Paradise Historical Society. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Rhodes, four brothers and two sisters. She is survived by two stepchildren, Howard Rhodes of Cheyenne, Wyo., and Phyllis Testrake of Kilmarnock, Va; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great- and great- great-nieces and nephews and cousins. Pallbearers will be Dike Read, Bodie Read, Derek Read, Michael Read, Justin Read and Reggie Read. The family requests memorials be made to the First United Methodist Church of Paradise building fund. Robert D. Worley was to officiate. Burial was to follow at Boyd Cemetery. Rhoudes died Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2005, near Boyd. Born July 20, 1961, in Bakersfield, Calif., to Loyd J. Paul and Peggy Ruth Hays, she was a manager at Randy’s Super Save in Azle and a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Boyd. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Furmin and Bruce Hays and a sister, Ruth Keller. She is survived by her husband, Robert Rhoudes; four sons, John Hatley and wife, Sheri, of Haltom City, Robert Douglas Rhoudes of Douglass, Robert Earl Rhoudes and wife, Francis, of Pecos and Joseph Lee Rhoudes and wife, Sandy, of Odessa; three daughters, Tina Marie Bush of Nacogdoches, Connie Gene Rhoudes and husband, Randy, of Wink and Angel Levingston and husband, James, of Boyd; a brother, Raymond Hays; a sister, Glenda Aery and 23 grandchildren. Born May 5, 1937, in Chico, to Abb and Cleta Setser Richey, he was a self-employed oilfield consultant and a member of the Crafton Baptist Church. He married Vicki Zahn Richey March 16, 1957, in Bridgeport. He is survived by his wife; three sons, Rick Richey and wife, Cathy, and Brad Richey and wife, Barbara, all of Chico, and Mike Richey and wife, Shirley, of Paradise; a brother, Rodger Richey and wife, Fredia, of Alabama; a sister, Linda Bales and husband, William, of Oklahoma; 13 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; 11 nieces and nephews and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
