(CIC), a project company held by SOLARWATT PV Italia GmbH. The carport, which is located on the property of Altmann, a logistics group, in Piadena, Italy, will have a peak power of 5.9 megawatts (MWp). Some 24,700 Solarwatt crystalline modules will be installed on the four individual surface areas which form the roof of the carport and come to around 13,000 square metres in total. SMA is supplying the inverters. The carport has enough space for around 6,000 new cars and fulfils a dual purpose: The photovoltaic plant on the roof will generate around 6.4 million kilowatt hours of clean electricity a year and, at the same time, protect the vehicles against the weather and keep them clean. Phoenix Solar is responsible for the planning, site management and the professional construction of the solar carport.
