ADVOCACY DAY 2018 - IN REVIEW March 21, Monona Terrace, Madison

Nearly 1,000 hospital advocates attended Hospital Association’s premier event, 2018 Advocacy Day, in Madison. The annual powerhouse event showcases every year that hospitals, health systems and their advocates are passionate about being engaged on priority issues. Over 500 of those attendees took what they learned and went to the state capitol for meetings with their legislators. National Political Correspondent for NPR Mara Liasson provided the morning keynote with Lieutenant Governor Rebecca Kleefisch providing the luncheon keynote. Attendees heard from a bipartisan leadership panel of Sen. (R-Stevens Point), Sen. (D-Middleton), Rep. Joe Sanfelippo (R-New Berlin) and Rep. Debra Kolste (D-Janesville).State Sen. Howard Marklein received WHA’s Health Care Advocate Award in recognition Lt. Gov. Rebecca Kleefisch of his partnership with WHA in supporting issues that enable the delivery of high-quality, high-value health care in Wisconsin, and Fort HealthCare received the 2018 Advocacy All-Star Award for their grassroots commitment.
