DECLARATION OF ACQUISITION PURSUANT TO SECTION 3 OF THE LAND ACQUISITION ORDINANCE (CHAPTER 109) and IN THE MATTER of a Declaration by the Governor General acting on the advice of Cabinet that portions of land situate at Roseau in the Quarter of Castries in the island of Saint Lucia are likely to be acquired for a public purpose.

DECLARATION OF ACQUISITION OF LAND

WHEREAS, it is enacted by Section 3 of the Land Acquisition Ordinance Chapter 109 that if the Governor General acting on the advice of Cabinet considers that any lands should be acquired for a public purpose, she may cause a Declaration to that effect to be made;

AND WHEREAS, it is considered by the Governor General acting on the advice of Cabinet that the lands mentioned and described in the Schedule hereto should be acquired for a public purpose to wit: For the Relocation of the Plant Propagation and Agricultural Research and Development Centre.

NOW Therefore, it is hereby declared by the Governor General acting in accordance with the advice of Cabinet, that upon the Second Publication of this Declaration in the Gazette, the lands mentioned in the schedule hereto shall vest absolutely in the Crown for a public purpose, to wit: For the Relocation of the Plant Propagation and Agricultural Research and Development Centre.

SCHEDULE

All that piece of land known as Parcels 0442B 2 and 0442B 3 situated at Roseau in the Quarter of Castries and being bounded as follows: North : By Parcels 0443B 293, 294, 296, 297 South : By the Roseau River East : By Parcels 0642B 86 and 0643B 373 and by the West Coast Road West : By Parcels 0442B 141 and 0443B 235

The whole containing a total of 40.8 acres (16.51 hectares) as shown on the following plans survey by O. Monplaisir, Licensed Land Surveyor: a. 2 Acs 2Rds 14.3Pcs shown on Plan No. C. 3338 dated 22nd December, 1965 lodged in the Survey Office on 23rd December 1965 and recorded as 187/65. b. 9 acres 3 Rds. 20.8Pcs shown on Plan No. C. 5169 dated 28th June 1977 and lodged in the Survey Office on 8th July, 1977 and recorded as 223/77. c. 28 Acs. 1 Rd. 33 Pcs. shown on Plan No. C. 3194 dated 16th June 1964 and lodged in the Survey Office 20th June 1964 and recorded as 60/64.
