A desire for harmony Patricia Riekel was motivated to become a journalist by her “passion for people“. She spent two decades as the editor of BurdaStyle magazine and editor-in-chief of BUNTE which developed to become one of Europe’s biggest people magazines thanks to her tireless dedi- cation. Patricia Riekel and Elisabeth Gürtler are linked by a long-standing friendship as well as a “creative yearning and desire for harmony”. The ASTORIA RESORT provides the power woman with the balance she needs away from her hard-working everyday life. Nevertheless, for the long-standing editor-in-chief the separation between job and leisure time is unimaginable since “Being a journalist is a 24-hour job”. She was officially appointed as our ambassador on September 6th, 2019. During a conversation with Uschi Fellner-Pöttler, the founder of the women’s magazines Woman, Madonna und Look, it became clear: Patricia Riekel is bursting with energy, joie de vivre, ambition and charisma – the perfect ASTORIA ambassador for 2019/20.
