This is a fun, portable guide to the new Ghostbusters. I ordered the digital edition of this wee book as a means to supplement having fully read the adult novelization. While I would have preferred a larger, DK [Dorling Kindersley] published Visual Dictionary and/or Incredible Cross-Sections type photo-reference guide i.e. what the Star Wars folks get regularly, I found this wee guide to be rather well composed, edited and organized for GB fans of all ages. The photos are all pretty crisp and the handbook does a great job in defining the 7 different Classes of Ghosts and the 5 levels of spectral interaction (T1-5). The Ghostbusters, their backstories, key ghost characters, GB equipment, etc. are all dealt with rather nicely within the compact confines of this guide. Theres a quiz at the end for junior GBs to earn their certification; again, this is aimed at kids but can be enjoyed by fans of all-ages.As other reviewers have warned, this guide DOES spoil a LOT of key elements regarding the plot, characters, true villain, etc. of this movie. So get it only if youre willing to sacrifice a good number of surprises; in the end, this guide doesnt FULLY provide every second of the films running time nor does it provide you with all of the actors lines and/or performances from within the film. So if youre ok with having key elements spoiled but can look at this as a sort of appetizer for the actual film serving a main course: Buy It!
