Railway Protection Force, feels proud and privileged to extend a hearty welcome to all the State Police Forces, Central Police Forces and Union Territories Police Forces to participate in the 20th All India Police Band Competition – 2019 to be held at Railway Sports Complex, Secunderabad from 19th to 23rd February, 2020. Dates:- The 20th All India Police Band Competition-2019 will be held from 19.02.2020 to 23.02.2020 at Secunderabad. Competition is to be held w.e.f 19.02.2020. However, essential preliminary activities will commence w.e.f 18th February 2020. All participating teams/officers are requested to report latest by 18.02.2020 morning. Location:- Secunderabad, Telangana Secunderabad is a neighborhood of Hyderabad in the state of Telangana. Named after Sikandar Jah, the third Nizam of the Asaf Jahi dynasty, Secunderabad was established in 1806 as a British cantonment. The Capital City of Hyderabad is a combination of two regions - Secunderabad and Hyderabad, widely referred to as the twin cities. Geographically, they are demarcated by the man-made ‘Hussainsagar Lake’ or ‘Tank Bund’. It also goes by cities sobriquet city of Pearls. The Pearl City, Hyderabad with its unmatched blend of history and modernity, hypnotizes everyone, whoever sets his/her foot in this beautiful city of Nizams. Many tourists places such as, Charminar, Golconda Fort, Ramoji Film City, Hussain Sagar Lake, Birla Mandir, Chowmahalla Palace, etc., to name few. Venue :- Railway Sports Complex (RSC)/Secunderabad is located adjacent to the Rail Nilayam, (Zonal Railway Headquarters, South Central Railway, Secunderabad) on the main road leading to Tarnaka. The approximate distances from Major railway stations and airport to venue are as under : a) Secunderabad Railway station about 03 Kms. approx. b) Nampally Railway station about 10 Kms. c) Kacheguda Railway station about 08 Kms. d) 32 Kms from RGI Airport, Shamshabad. Climate:- The climatic conditions will be ideal with moderate day temperatures in Hyderabad during February. Usually, average maximum daytime temperature in Hyderabad in February is a hot 33°C and ranges from 29° - 33° Celsius with heat & humidity. The average night-time temperature is usually a comfortable 18°C (64°F). Participation:- All Central Para Military Forces, States Police, Union Territories teams, members of All India Police Sports Control Board can participate in the 20th All India Police Band Competition-2019. Eligibility Criteria:- As per the provisions of the Rules of the All India Police Sports Control Board, every player including the reserves participating in the championship must have completed a minimum of three months of continuous service as on 18.02.2020. Further, a certificate to that effect should be recorded at the bottom of the entry form duly signed by an officer not below the rank of Inspector General of Police. Entry form and Nominal Roll:- Entry forms should also be submitted online through AIPSCB Portal. The teams are required to submit a copy of the entry form enclosed as Annexure-“A” along with nominal roll and two passport size photographs of the participants and officials, duly filled in, may please be sent to the IG-Principal Chief Security Commissioner-cum-Organizing Secretary 20th All India Police Band Competition-2019, via post or E-mail viz. [email protected] on or before 10th January 2020 duly completed in all respects along with Demand Draft for entry fee. No changes will be entertained / allowed after 1st February 2020. Original copy of the entry form should be handed over to the organizers on arrival at the venue. A copy of the same may also be sent to the Secretary, All India Police Sports Control Board & Central Co-ordinating Committee New Delhi. Any change in the entry forms should be conveyed to the office of the Organizing Secretary before 5th February 2020, failing which no change shall be permitted at the later stage. Entry fee :- Entry Fee for the Competition will be `.100/- for each participant including reserves/Team Manager/Coaches and other members The amount of Entry Fee should be remitted in the form of an Account Payee Demand Draft in favour of Organizing Secretary, 20th All India Police Band Competition-2019 vide State Bank of India, Account No.38779266736, IFSC Code:SBIN0006645, Address: St.John’s Road, Secunderabad. Strength:- As per the latest Rules of All India Police Sports Control Board, each team can nominate members as under:- Sl.No. Teams Strength 01 Brass Band 34 (33 +1) plus two Reserves/Standby 02 Pipe Band 17 (16 + 1) plus two Reserves/Standby 03 Bugler 05 plus two Reserve/Standby Ceremonies and Flags:- All the members of the participating teams are requested to wear similar Track-Suits or Trousers & Shirts prescribed by their respective Police Organizations for the March Past for the Opening and Closing Ceremonies. Each team must bring with them their respective State/Unit flags of the following specifications:- 1) Flag for hosting : 6 Ft X 4 Ft = 02 no’s 2) Flag for March Past : 5 Ft X 3 Ft = 01 no Dress :- The Band team shall wear clean, neat and presentable dress during the competition, as prescribed by the concerned State Police/UT/CAPFs. Rehearsals:- There will be full dress rehearsal of both the Opening and Closing Ceremonies in accordance with the norms of the Police Games. The rehearsal of the Opening will be on 18.02.2020 and for Closing Ceremony on 22.02.2020. The time of rehearsal will be intimated to the teams on arrival. Boarding & Lodging Arrangements:- Boarding and lodging will be arranged at twin cities. The participating teams are requested to intimate rank wise strength
