A former adviser to Lady Thatcher, Mr. Gardiner was named by the London Daily Telegraph as one of the 50 most influential Britons in the United States. He has written extensively on international issues and is a regular guest on major television outlets in both the U.S. and the UK. Mr. Gardiner is a graduate of Oxford with a PhD from Yale. January 28, 2020 Page 2 Beyond Brexit – Outlook for U.S.-UK Trade The Speakers (Continued) John Dickerman John Dickerman is the head of the Washington office of the Confederation of British Industry, handling the day-to-day operation of the CBI’s presence in North America. He focuses on policy questions that involve U.S. government relations, international trade, financial services, climate change, energy, telecom, and transport. Prior to joining the CBI, Mr. Dickerman worked as a legislative and policy adviser for two members of Congress. He has extensive experience in the Federal Judiciary, having held positions with both the United States District Court for the District of Maryland and the United States Department of Justice. He holds a JD from the University of Maryland School of Law and a BA from Mercer University in Macon, Georgia. Shawna Morris is the Vice President of Trade Policy for National Milk Producers Federation and the U.S. Dairy Export Council (USDEC). She works to achieve the best possible results for NMPF and USDEC members on matters related to international trade and related government policies. These goals include efforts in both multilateral and bilateral trade negotiations, as well as work on the resolution of trade barriers. As part of advancing the U.S. dairy industry’s interests on those trade issues, she also leads NMPF and USDEC congressional relations efforts on trade matters. A graduate of the College of William and Mary, Ms. Morris is also the Sr. Director for the Consortium for Common Food Names. John W. Miller is the Chief Economic Analyst at Trade Data Monitor, in charge of writing TDM Insights, a newsletter analyzing key issues through trade statistics. John is an award-winning journalist who’s reported from 45 countries for the Wall Street Journal, Time Magazine, and NPR. As a staff reporter for the Wall Street Journal, he covered all aspects of global trade. He is co-director of the acclaimed documentary film “Moundsville”, which will be screened on PBS throughout 2020. John is from Brussels and is fluent in English and French. R. K. (“Judge”) Morris is the Founder and President of the Global Business Dialogue, which has been hosting public discussions of trade policy since 2000. A Vietnam veteran and a graduate of Brown University, Mr. Morris began his trade policy career at the British Embassy (1974-80), established the NAM Trade Forum during his 15 years there, and from 1995 to 1999 was the trade policy adviser to the CEO of AMP Incorporate (1995-1999), then the world’s largest producers of electronic connectors.
