Minutes of Hewick & Hutton Parish Council Meeting

3. Minutes of last meeting agreed and signed 4. Matters arising Two pieces of good news Bus service from Copt Hewick to Boroughbridge now in place on Tuesdays Steps in front of council property that were jutting out on to highway in Hutton Conyers that Cllr Richardson was concerned about have been removed 5. Report from Cllr Margaret Atkinson N has the largest mileage of roads in and they have plenty of plans in place such as salt, gritters, plenty of drivers etc. 35,000 street lights are all gradually being changed to LED at a huge saving. NYCC Meeting at Magistrates Court in Northallerton as County Hall is being renovated. 40% of finances go on care for the elderly 2/3rds of people in NY pay for their own care. Broadband is increasing all the time. old Council Offices back up for sale and there are a number of bids, they lost no money on the lost sale. The swimming pool in will be started soon. The council has built and purchased a number of new affordable houses to rent out. 6. Open forum Cllr Richardson asked is Cllr Blackburn still a councilor. Clerk explained that he had not resigned as far as she knows. 7. Highways A village member asked after the flooding in Copt Hewick village last week can we get a report from fire service to use in against future planning applications. ? Footpath around Corner House still not completed. Clerk to follow up again to see when this is being done? Tim Simpson from Harrogate Council has given the developer a list of contractors who can complete the job. 8. Playground Inspection was carried out report was received today as it has previously been sent to wrong email address. The one part of the playground that needs repair is a hole in the perimeter fence. It was agreed by the council to get this mended and a member of the village who was present agreed that Copt Hewick Committee would pay for this. A number of signs have been made in the past asking people not to let dogs in the play area but they have been vandalized. The Clerk to laminate some new ‘no dogs please’ signs. 10. Accounts Precept request for next year at present is £1760 council agreed to raise this by 5% 11. Dog Poo bin The clerk has been in contact with the department in Harrogate. They are in the process of re-organising the office and she was asked to call back in the middle of November and they might be able to help. Case no. 149092853 12. AOB The Clerk asked if the Council needed minutes of the meeting to be published on notice boards. The council agreed to put the minutes on the notice board outside Copt Hewick Village Hall and the notice board in Hutton Conyers. The Parish notice board at Hutton Conyers – the wood has warped and it is difficult to open. The same person who will mend the fence will be asked to look at this. The clerk asked if there was anywhere else the board could be sited as it is difficult to access, Cllrs Richardson and Gledson agreed to look into this. 13.
