FinalProject 25/08/2018, 930 PM COGS108 Final Project Group Members: Yanyi Wang Ziwen Zeng Lingfei Lu Yuhan Wang Yuqing Deng Introduction and Background Movie revenue is one of the most important measure of good and bad movies. Revenue is also the most important and intuitionistic feedback to producers, directors and actors. Therefore it is worth for us to put effort on analyzing what factors correlate to revenue, so that producers, directors and actors know how to get higher revenue on next movie by focusing on most correlated factors. Our project focuses on anaylzing all kinds of factors that correlated to revenue, for example, genres, elements in the movie, popularity, release month, runtime, vote average, vote count on website and cast etc. After analysis, we can clearly know what are the crucial factors to a movie's revenue and our analysis can be used as a guide for people shooting movies who want to earn higher renveue for their next movie. They can focus on those most correlated factors, for example, shooting specific genre and hire some actors who have higher average revenue. Reasrch Question: Various factors blend together to create a high revenue for movie, but what are the most important aspect contribute to higher revenue? What aspects should people put more effort on and what factors should people focus on when they try to higher the revenue of a movie? http://localhost:8888/nbconvert/html/Desktop/MyProjects/Pr_085/FinalProject.ipynb?download=false Page 1 of 62 FinalProject 25/08/2018, 930 PM Hypothesis: We predict that the following factors contribute the most to movie revenue.

‘CLASS’ CAST BIOS JODI LYN O’KEEFE (Kylie) – Jodi Lyn O’Keefe, who viewers watched grow up on television as Don Johnson’s rebellious daughter, Cassidy, in the long running CBS hit, “Nash Bridges,” was most recently a series regular on FOX’s critically acclaimed “Prison Break,” where she played the deliciously evil Gretchen. O’Keefe’s episodic work includes guest and recurring performances on “Lost,” “Two and a Half Men,” “Boston Legal,” “Dharma and Greg,” “Criminal Minds,” “CSI: NY” and many more. On film, she is best remembered for starring in “She’s All That” with Freddie Prinze Jr, for which she won a Young Hollywood Award, and a series of popular horror films including “Halloween: H20,” “Devil in the Flesh Part II” and more. She also starred with Billy Baldwin in “Red Rover” and with James Franco in “Whatever it Takes.” Born in Cliffwood Beach, NJ, O’Keefe began her career as a model at the age of eight when she was signed by the Ford Modeling Agency in New York. She starred as the Gitano Girl in the print and television campaign ‘Spirit of the Family’ and later as the Candies Girl for the famous shoe company. O’Keefe attended public school when not working, but the teasing about her height made her very uncomfortable. At age 13, she signed with J. Michael Bloom for theatrical representation and joined the cast of “Another World” as the youngest member of the Corey family. Her first trip to Los Angeles was for the final screen test for “Nash Bridges.” The next six years were spent in San Francisco with the “Bridges” cast and crew, and O’Keefe spent her yearly hiatus from the series working on films in Los Angeles.

  • A Tale of Two Siblings Sue Leaf
Thomas and (Mary) Emma Roberts, their younger brother John Walter, and their parents, John and Eliza- beth Sadler Roberts, moved to Minnesota in 1867 when the state was relatively raw and unformed. Thomas was nine and Emma, seven. Their father was modestly wealthy from real estate ventures in his native Philadel- phia, but he suffered from tuberculosis. As the disease advanced, doctors advised him to seek relief in the fresh air of the Upper Midwest. He brought his young family to Minneapolis where he embarked on a healthful regime of outdoor activity, undertaking walks or long buggy rides into the countryside. John Roberts had a keen in- terest in natural history, and Thomas developed his love of birds on these excursions. Father and son carried an old muzzle- loading gun for collecting specimens to take home and identify.2 Less frequently, Emma accompanied her father on his jaunts. She was more interested in the wildfl owers grow- ing in profusion along roadsides and in remnant woods and prairie. Her interest in birds was domestic— she tended a pet, which laid an egg that Thomas acquired.3 A Tale of Two Siblings Sue Leaf n his 1877 valedictory speech to his class- mates at Minneapolis High School, Thomas Sadler Roberts earnestly entreated the audience to pay Iattention to the “endless beauty and richness” of nature, which “brings more contentedness and satisfaction than relentless pursuit of wealth.” Local birds were “gorgeously arrayed” and largely ignored. “Celebrated paintings . are objects of admiration and praise,” he added, “but for beauty through and through, we must turn to works of nature.” 1 Sitting in the audience, his younger sister, Emma, ap- preciated the sentiment though she was more likely to seek beauty in nature’s delicate fl owers than the myriad birds fl itting overhead.

A lawsuit filed by Lisa-Maria Carter, 46, claims Dr. Larry Glazerman mistakenly sliced through her small bowel when carrying out the procedure in Tampa, Florida and sewed her up without realising. The suit claims that necrotizing fasciitis bacteria lurks in the intestine harmlessly but can cause infections if it is pierced - which caused a massive infection, internal damage and limb loss for Carter.
