He made millions selling trainers, now he visits schools across the country to see why poorer children do worse, and what can be done to improve results. He hears from teachers, parents and pupils about what makes a good school. The entrepreneur begins his journey in the primary he attended in Ayrshire and takes in a range of other schools in Scotland. His examination of educational issues also includes a visit to an academy in inner city London and to a new kind of independent school in Glasgow which both provide different perspectives on secondary level education. When he has completed his investigation he presents his findings to the First Minister. In the Scotland 2016 Debate at 10.30 pm on BBC Two Scotland, a panel of leading figures from Scottish politics will discuss the issues raised by the documentary and take questions from an audience of pupils, parents and teachers. You can't make it through a day without hearing "did you see on Facebook…" or "I read on Twitter", or seeing someone taking a selfie, no doubt to post on Instagram or Snapchat. Trusadh takes a snapshot in time of this brave new world, exploring who uses it and why. Amongst those featured are Naomi Buchanan, a 23 year old self-confessed social media addict and Scottish comedian and web developer, Brian 'Limmy' Limond, who talks about how he entertains his 256.9k online followers. Also featured are the team behind the Gaelic short film competition FilmG who use social media to connect with their target audience and Gaelic singer, Cathy Ann MacPhee - originally from Barra but now living in Canada - finds that Facebook is now her easiest way to communicate with her family and friends back on the island. Meanwhile, Alana MacInnes, one of the girls behind the internet phenomenon #thedress, reflects on her whirlwind experience. Social Media - a look at how the ever changing online world is changing all of our lives. Alex’s world is rocked as truths and revelations about his father’s identity unravel. As tensions grow, Martina pleads with Lenny to keep Alex in the dark about the details of Kelly-Marie’s accident. However, her words fall on deaf ears as Lenny tells Alex it was Martina who pushed Kelly-Marie down the stairs leading to the death of baby David. Despite Martina’s protestations, Alex doesn’t know who to believe and realises his only option is to return to Shieldinch and get the truth from the only person he can trust – Kelly-Marie. With the shocking truth exposed, Martina knows her fate is sealed. Once bitter rivals, Alex and Lenny are finally in united in their desire to make Martina pay for her actions. At the wake for baby David, Kelly-Marie stands at the sidelines, distant from those around her. She escapes home and breaks down to a horrified Scarlett, admitting she needs Alex in her life again. When Alex arrives, Kelly-Marie stresses that they need each other to get through this difficult time. Alex rejects her pleas, telling her he never really loved her and admitting he committed adultery with Angel, leaving Kelly-Marie utterly heartbroken. Over at the McLeans, Caitlin, Jenny and Drew bond over a scary movie but end up spooked by the evening’s entertainment. Julie Whiteside _____________________________________________________________________________________________________ Vets: Gach Creutair Beò, Ep 6/10 Tuesday 1 March BBC ALBA, 8.30 – 9.00pm This series takes viewers on a journey across Scotland following vets as they tend to animals from small to large to very wild. In this programme, orthopaedic specialist vet Richard Coe is at the Vets Now hospital in Glasgow operating on a young spaniel who has come in with a broken leg. Richard performs surgery to insert a metal plate, which binds the two parts of the bone together. At Blair Drummond Safari Park, vet Colin Scott is doing his rounds as he checks on the animals; from chimpanzees to penguins and the macaque monkeys, and he finishes his day at the birds of prey show. Meanwhile in Vatersay, crofters are preparing their cattle for the sales with help from vet David Buckland who has come across from Barra for the day. Once they’ve determined who assaulted Kelly Paterson, a new light is shone on the murder of Michael Thompson, bringing a shocking revelation. Back in Shetland, witness Leanne struggles to deal with the emotional aftermath of being shot, while Perez is troubled to discover that Michael’s witness protection handler, Asha, was in Lerwick on the day the email was sent. As the team dig deeper into Asha’s past, they discover a connection to one of McCall’s team and face a race against time to stop the killer from striking again.
