    Case Study Introduction Snowbasin Facility of Sinclair Oil Corp. was interested Snowbasin SmartGen in testing an independent uninterruptible power supply that would continuously deliver facility Remote Power grid electricity and provide an emergency power utilizing its natural gas infrastructure. The system would need to fit in a small space in close proximity to the facility and require limited to no maintenance. Qnergy Solution Due to power outages at the site, SnowBasin was interested in testing a Qnergy SmartGen system as a source of alternative power at their centrally located Earl's Lodge. A 6 kW Remote Power system with additional Power Interface Package, battery enclosure (3000 AH) and inverter was delivered and installed at the Snowbasin resort facility through a 48Vdc architecture. The facility was upgraded to convert natural gas into electricty as a supply to the facility grid. Additional 120Vac 45A electrical outlets were installed for independent emergency electrical supply in case of grid failure. Results Qnergy's SmartGen Remote Power system with additional accessories has been operating since October 2016, with a daily NET power production of greater than 130 kW-hr. The system has operated with 99% operational availablity where temparatures have ranged from 23oC to -22oC and over 421 inches of total snowfall has occurred over the last 6 months (121 inches base snowpack).     July 11, 2019 PRESIDENT’S LETTER Covering The White Winter World When the Eastern Slope Inn in North Conway, N.H., hosted the first organizational meeting of the Eastern Ski Writers Association in September 1962, the focus was clearly on covering skiing, then best defined as alpine downhill. Today if you write, blog, broadcast, photograph, video, Tweet or Insta to cover a winter sport or leisure pastime that occurs on snow, you’ll find a home at NASJA. Yes, we’re talking about you competitive or non-competitive alpine skiing, Nordic skiing, dog sledding, ski jumping, ski orienteering, snowboarding, snowshoeing, uphilling, fat biking, even snow dancing. Snowmobiling not so much, but we’ve expanded the definition of snowsports in the past, and can do so again as popular leisure activities change with the times. We service the needs of our readers, viewers and online users with news and information they can use to decide how to spend those precious few hours in the white winter world when they’re not sleeping, eating, working, doing housework, in school, or dare we say, zoned out in front of a screen. NASJA members take pride in helping the North American consumer get the most out of their free time, a most treasured commodity.     Epic Pass FAQ Epic Pass Products What is the difference between the Epic Pass, Epic Local Pass, and Epic Day Pass? The Epic Pass offers unlimited, unrestricted skiing and riding at all of the Company’s world-class resorts, including Vail, Beaver Creek, Whistler Blackcomb, Breckenridge, Keystone, Crested Butte, Park City, Heavenly, Northstar, Kirkwood, Stowe, Okemo, Mount Sunapee, Stevens Pass, Afton Alps, Mt. Brighton and Wilmot in North America. In Australia, the Epic Pass also provides access to Perisher, and is expected to include access to Falls Creek and Hotham for the 2020 ski season, pending close of the acquisition and certain approvals. The Epic Pass also provides limited access to partner resorts around the world, including: seven days at each of Telluride, Sun Valley, Snowbasin, and the Resorts of the Canadian Rockies; five consecutive days at Hakuba Valley, Japan’s ten ski resorts; five consecutive days at Japan’s Rusutsu resort; and limited days at Les 3 Vallées, Paradiski and Tignes-Val D’Isere in France, 4 Vallées in Switzerland, Arlberg in Austria and Skirama Dolomiti in Italy.
