Communiqué De Presse COMMUNIQUÉ DE PRESSE Paris, le 28 avril 2018 PODIUM PARISIEN POUR SAM BIRD ET DS VIRGIN RACING Troisième place finale de l’e- Prix de Paris pour Sam Bird au terme d’un dernier tour chaotique. DS Virgin Racing et Sam Bird conservent la deuxième place des championnats de Formula E. Prochaine étape le 19 mai à Berlin. Sam Bird a décroché la troisième place de l’E-Prix de Paris. Ce troisième podium consécutif permet au pilote britannique et à DS Virgin Racing de consolider leur deuxième place aux classements des pilotes et des équipes. Sam Bird s’est montré rapide dès le début de journée en signant le meilleur temps de la première séance d’essais, tandis que son équipier Alex Lynn s’est placé en sixième position. Durant les qualifications, Sam Bird a décroché la deuxième place sur la grille de départ aux côtés de Jean-Eric Vergne. À seulement une demi-seconde du meilleur temps, Alex Lynn s’est contenté du quinzième rang. À l’extinction des feux, Sam Bird est parvenu à contrer une attaque d’André Lotterer pour conserver la deuxième position juste derrière Jean-Eric Vergne. Durant la seconde moitié de la course, André Lotterer est parvenu à passer Sam Bird au prix d’une attaque musclée, juste avant que Lucas di Grassi ne trouve également l’ouverture. Quatrième au moment d’aborder le dernier tour, Sam Bird semblait devoir interrompre sa série de podiums. Mais André Lotterer terminait la course en roue libre. À pleine vitesse, Sam Bird heurtait la Techeetah dans le dernier virage, mais il parvenait à passer la ligne en troisième position pour décrocher son quatorzième podium en Formula E. Sur un bon rythme, Alex Lynn se classait au quatorzième rang. Sam Bird : « Nous avons été compétitifs ce week-end, mais Jean-Eric Vergne a réalisé une course très intelligente et nous n’avons pas été en mesure de le battre. Il mérite sa victoire et je sais que c’est un moment très spécial de s’imposer à domicile. La course a été très spectaculaire et je suis heureux de terminer en troisième position pour marquer des points importants pour l’équipe et pour moi. » Alex Lynn : « Malheureusement, ça n’a pas été une bonne journée pour moi. J’ai été assez déçu par ma qualification qui a rendu ma course plus difficile. Nous avons réussi à gagner quelques places, mais sans parvenir à remonter davantage. Nous savons que nous sommes rapides et l’objectif est de rebondir dès Berlin. » Alex Tai, Team Principal DS Virgin Racing : « Paris a été un fabuleux rendez-vous, autant en piste qu’en dehors. Sam décroche un nouveau podium pour la course à domicile de notre constructeur DS Automobiles. Il ne reste que quatre courses et notre équipe conforte sa deuxième place au classement. After securing the team’s first podium finish of the 2015-16 FIA Formula E season during an eventful race in Putrajaya, Malaysia, last month, Sam Bird will be looking for another strong performance on the streets of Punta del Este in order to consolidate his position within the top 3 of the driver championship standings. For team-mate Jean-Éric Vergne, Punta will bring back some fond memories – it was here where the Frenchman made his Formula E debut last season, storming to pole position before his race was ultimately cut short. To celebrate the run-up to the holiday season, the DSV-01 car livery will be given a special festive make-over. Named after Holly and Bellie Branson, each car’s unique ‘flying lady’ graphic will be adorned with Christmas holly and bells for one-race only. The Punta del Este Street Circuit is one of the most recognisable on the Formula E calendar. Often dubbed the St. Tropez of South America, the circuit features 20 turns as it snakes around the city’s spectacular harbour.     Press Release 18 January 2020 Santiago E-Prix, Race 3 of the ABB FIA Formula E Championship 2019/2020 TAG Heuer Porsche Formula E Team out of luck at the race in Chile Stuttgart. After a strong podium finish at the season-opener in Diriyah (Saudi Arabia), the TAG Heuer Porsche Formula E Team was denied a further top result in the third race of the ABB FIA Formula E Championship 2019/2020 season in Santiago (Chile). Neel Jani (CH) was forced to retire from the race after just a few laps in his #18 Porsche 99X Electric. André Lotterer (D) crossed the finishing line at the Santiago E-Prix in 22nd place in his #36 Porsche 99X Electric, but was later disqualified having exceeded the maximum permitted power amount. Victory went to Maximilian Günther (D, BMW i Andretti Motorsport), ahead of António Félix da Costa (PT, DS Techeetah) and Mitch Evans (NZ, Jaguar Racing). Having started the race from twelfth place, Jani was involved in a racing accident through no fault of his own on the first lap and had to head for the pits. He was able to return to the 2.287 km street circuit, but the damage to his car was so severe that it proved impossible to continue racing. Lotterer had qualified in 14th place but was involved in an incident in the race and also had to make a pit stop for repairs. He did manage to continue and get some important kilometres under his belt. André Lotterer is in ninth place in the drivers’ standings; Neel Jani is currently in 23rd position.

The Swiss driver’s points haul of 28 points closed the gap to leader Nelson Piquet Jr to just five units ahead of Sunday’s action. That understandably boosted his confidence, and it was lifted further when Buemi benefited from a dry qualifying slot (Q2) for Race 2, whereas title rival Piquet was slowed by a heavy shower during Q3. For the first time this season, the drivers faced wet conditions but the MICHELIN Pilot Sport EV rose to the occasion to provide the necessary grip. “We’ve been waiting for this sort of weather since the beginning on the championship,” says Serge Grisin, manager of Michelin’s Formula E programme. “We designed the MICHELIN Pilot Sport EV to be a very versatile tyre and we finally got the opportunity to see how it performed in a wet qualifying session on Sunday. Technically, that was very important because we wanted to collect data and get feedback from all the drivers. Now we know we met our objective because we received positive praise from everyone.” The wet session shook up the start order for Race 2, with Stéphane Sarrazin (Venturi) claiming pole position and title challengers Buemi and Piquet starting from sixth and 16th places on the grid respectively.
