To give you a look at how our shows are developed and how Lyric Theatre collaborates with the Krannert Center’s Level 21 program, stage director Michael Foster (’13 DMA Voice Performance) sat down with Regina García, professor of “All the world’s a stage…” theatre and scenic designer, to talk about bringing this enchanting opera to life. LTI’s Shakespeare Season Michael: How did you come to design our production? NATHAN GUNN TO APPEAR ON THE COLBERT REPORT Tuesday, May 6 on Comedy Central Baritone sensation Nathan Gunn appears on the award-winning The Colbert Report on Tuesday, May 6 at 11:30 p.m. (ET) on Comedy Central. Watch Nathan go head to head with host Stephen Colbert as they discuss the “intrusion” of opera into the most American of art forms – the movies. Nathan Gunn is noted for his interpretations of the great baritone roles ranging from the title role in Billy Budd to the Count in Le nozze di Figaro, which he has sung in the major opera houses and concert halls in Europe and America including the Met, the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, Paris Opera, New York Philharmonic, Chicago Symphony, Boston Symphony and London Symphony Orchestra. Also a supporter of new works, he created the role of Clyde Griffiths in the premiere of An American Tragedy by Tobias Picker at the Met. Upcoming engagements include Lancelot in the New York Philharmonic Orchestra’s performances of Camelot (which will be broadcast nationally on PBS’s Live at Lincoln Center on May 8) and Gaylord Ravenal in Showboat at Carnegie Hall.
