Mr. Abelew was born in Moscow then lived in New Jersey for 43 years where he taught art at the Art Student League and the New York School of Design. He worked in many mediums but was best known for his work in oils. (Music Composition) from Oberlin College second year as co-President of Seaside Jewish (1982) and his M.A. and Ph.D. in Comparative Community.
