Firstly I would like to thank my internship supervisor Muhammed Rashedul Hasan, Lecturer, Department of Journalism and Mass communication in Daffodil International University. Without his suggestion and constructive recommendation I could not able to complete my internship project. Secondly I would like to express my deep gratitude Mr. Wahid Milton, Assignment Editor of the SATV, Md. Saiful Huda the Chief News Editor at SATV, Ferdous Mamun, Joint News Editor, Rana Rizvy, News Room Editor and the whole team of SATV for helping me throughout the internship period. I would like to thank everyone who assisted me in preparation of this report. Actually SATV is my first working place where I had started my profession as trainee basis staff. As my first experience Shafinaj Sultana, News Room Editor of SATV who had treated me like her student. She had taught and inspired me throughout my three month’s intern at SATV. Actually it was my great fortune that I had got opportunity to work with her and learned so many things. Finally I wish to thank various people for their contribution throughout my journey. Without my family and friends’ support I could not be able to complete this journey successfully. As a fresher, sometimes it was too boring for me to work for six or seven hours per day in every week. But for their support day by day I felt comfortable about this job system. Internships for professional careers are similar to apprenticeships for trade and vocational jobs. Although interns are typically college or university students, they can also be high school students or post-graduate adults. On occasion, they are middle school or even elementary students. In some countries, internships for school children are called work experience. Internships may be paid or unpaid, and are usually understood to be temporary positions. Unpaid and low-paid internships can run afoul of minimum wage laws, which sometimes have exceptions for educational positions. Generally, an internship consists of an exchange of services for experience between the student and an organization. Students can also use an internship to determine if they have an interest in a particular career, create a network of contacts, or gain school credit. Some interns find permanent, paid employment with the organizations with which they interned. This can be a significant benefit to the employer as experienced interns often need little or no training when they begin regular employment. Unlike a trainee program, however, employment at the completion of an internship is not guaranteed. Internships provide real world experience to those looking to explore or gain the relevant knowledge and skills required to enter into a particular career field. Internships are relatively short term in nature with the primary focus on getting some on the job training and taking what’s learned in the classroom and applying it to the real world. Interns generally have a supervisor who assigns specific tasks and evaluates the interns overall work. For internships for credit, usually a faculty sponsor will work along with the site supervisor to ensure that the necessary learning is taking place. Interns can be high school or college students or even adults interested in trying out a new career. Students do internships to gain relevant experience in a particular career field as well as to get exposure to determine if they have a genuine interest in the field. Internships are an excellent way to begin building those all important connections that are invaluable in developing and maintaining a strong professional network for the future. Employers are demanding that college grads have "real world" experience, and internships are one of the best ways for college students to get that experience. More and more often, new hires are being drawn from the ranks of former interns whose work behavior and skills have already been put to the test. Interns who have proven themselves to a company throughout a successful on-the-job experience will be favored for full-time positions over candidates who have not completed an internship. Internship Objectives: i) To understand the basic news and its impact to do news in the practical field for getting a realistic approach. ii) To drafting the international and national news for presentation understanding the news impact. iii) To grab the chance to apply something new in the news pattern with a reasonable manner. iv) To have experience about the technical and practical knowledge of journalism. v) To be experienced in different genre of news by having interaction with media personalities and other journalists and so on.
