Taken from his eagerly anticipated second studio album, due for release in November, the latest track is just a taste of what to expect from the UK musician. Watch the video here. A sinuous, throbbing dance tune, charged with brass, Labrinth explained, “ I wanted to create a song in the journey of my album that encapsulated the feeling of betting your whole life on something, and being close to giving up before the big payoff.” 2019 has proved to be a monumental year for Labrinth. Having achieved huge success with the track ‘All For Us ’ featuring Zendaya , from the hit HBO show Euphoria where he is also credited as the series composer. He has since gone on to release EUPHORIA , featuring score music from the first season - amassing over 10 million streams in the first week that it was released. Labrinth continues to add more incredible collaborations having recently worked with Kanye West , co-writing and co-producing the track ‘God Is’ from his latest album ‘ Jesus Is King’. Labrinth also worked with Beyonce on ‘ Spirit ’, which was written for and features in the new live-action Lion King film. Last year also saw the formation of supergroup LSD (Labrinth, Sia & Diplo) who released an album in April, Seven years since his critically acclaimed debut ‘ Electronic Earth ’, previous single ‘ Miracle ’ marked the beginning of a new chapter for the genre-hopping musician. The sonically rich blast of electronic soul and digital gospel on ‘ Miracle ’ kicked off a semi-autobiographical story of what happens when dreams meet business. “Our character’s signed a deal and thinks he’s gonna be famous immediately,” Labrinth explains. “He’s signed away his imagination, but also his freedom to create the way he wants to create, his fluidity. Benefactors are always gonna want payback. So he doesn’t know he’s signing into that. Truck, which had been the centrepiece of Oxford’s live music calendar since 1998, surviving both floods and foot and mouth crises, succumbed to financial woes last year, going into administration in September. However, the event has been taken over by the organisers of Y-Not Festival in Derbyshire, which won Best Grassroots Festival 2011 at the UK Festival Awards. The new organisers hope to take Truck back to its roots as a local community festival. In a statement on the Truck website, Joe and Robin announced, ““We have always felt a great responsibility for the integrity and sustainability of Truck Festival, which grew so quickly and with such enthusiasm from very humble beginnings in 1998. Via Truck’s unique catering arrangements with the Rotary Club, tens of thousands of pounds have been raised for charities and good causes every year, including last year, and many great bands have taken their first steps to international prominence.
