A Study on the Influences of Exclusive Stopping Space on Saturation Flow (Case Study: Bandar Lampung)
International Conference on Science, Technology, and Environment 2019 Jogyakarta, 29-30 August A Study on the Influences of Exclusive Stopping Space on Saturation Flow (Case Study: Bandar Lampung) ALEKSANDER PURBA*, IKA KUSTIANI AND GALUH PRAMITA Engineering Faculty, the University of Lampung Abstract: The existence of exclusive stopping space (ESS) at the signalized intersection is expected to improve the performance of intersection, by collecting the motorcycle in an exclusive space and discharging it early when the signal is display green. This research compares the level of saturation flow on the approach with ESS and approach without ESS and finds that ESS's effectiveness is influenced primarily by occupancy rate. The findings of this study indicated that at 71% of ESS occupancy rate, the approach was able to discharge the saturation flow by 20% higher than the approach with a width of 4.5 m but without ESS. On the contrary, the approach without ESS with a width of 6.5 m looks better in discharge saturation flow compared with the approach with ESS but with an occupancy rate of only 38%. Careful design is highly recommended especially the area of ESS provided for motorcycle so that the functions performed by exclusive space run an effective way as planned. Keywords: Exclusive stopping space, Motorcycle, Saturation flow. 1. Introduction The number and use of motorcycles in major cities in Indonesia continues to increase not only due to travel needs but also because of its existence is considered to provide flexibility, cheaper and in some conditions faster than private car or public transportation such as buses. -

October 2013 Abstract How democratisation affects a state's foreign policy is a relatively neglected problem in International Relations. In Indonesia's case, there is a limited, but growing, body of literature examining the country's foreign policy in the post- authoritarian context. Yet this scholarship has tended to focus on the role of Indonesia's legislature and civil society organisations as newly-empowered foreign policy actors. Scholars of Southeast Asian politics, meanwhile, have concentrated on the effects of Indonesia's democratisation on regional integration and, in particular, on ASEAN cohesion and its traditional sovereignty-based norms. For the most part, the literature has completely ignored the effects of democratisation on Indonesia's foreign ministry – the principal institutional actor responsible for foreign policy formulation and conduct of Indonesia's diplomacy. Moreover, the effect of Indonesia's democratic transition on key bilateral relationships has received sparse treatment in the literature. -

Chaos in Indonesië
Chaos in Indonesië Willem Oltmans bron Willem Oltmans, Chaos in Indonesië. Sukmawati Sukarnoputri (Sukma) (51), dochter van president Sukarno, was me komen afhalen. Ik voelde me bevoorrecht. -
State Terrorism and Political Identity in Indonesia
State Terrorism and Political Identity in Indonesia Approximately one million innocent Indonesians were killed by their fellow nationals, neighbours and kin at the height of an anti-communist campaign in the mid-1960s. This book investigates the profound political consequences of these mass killings in Indonesia upon public life in the subsequent decades, highlighting the historical speci®cities of the violence and compar- able incidents of identity politics in more recent times. Weaving a balance of theory with an empirically based analysis, the book examines how the spectre of communism and the trauma experienced in the latter half of the 1960s remain critical in understanding the dynamics of terror, coercion and consent today. Heryanto challenges the general belief that the periodic anti-communist witch-hunts of recent Indonesian history are largely a political tool used by a powerful military elite and authoritarian government. The book investigates what drove otherwise apolitical subjects to be complicit in the engul®ng cycles of witch-hunts. It argues that elements of what began as an anti-communist campaign took on a life of their own, increasingly operating independently of the violence and individual subjects who appeared to be manipulating the campaigns in the 1980s and 1990s. Despite the profound importance of the 1965±6 events it remains one of the most dicult and sensitive topics for public discussion in Indonesia today. State Terrorism and Political Identity in Indonesia is one of the ®rst books to fully discuss the problematic representation and impacts of a crucial moment of Indonesia's history that until recently has been largely unspoken. -

In Suharto’s autocratic state, however, a third variable upset this equation: patronage. By using access to resources and business as the major lubricant of his patronage style of leadership Suharto actively encouraged the involvement of all powerful groups within the ec o n o m y . Eventually, the military, politicians, and the bureaucracy became intimately involved in the most lucrative business ventures to the point that to be successful in Indonesian business one required an influential partner in at least one of these institutional groups, preferably with direct access to Suharto. When Freeport began negotiations with the new military regime in Jakarta in 1967 to mine the copper in West Papua, the American transna- tional with the valuable political connections was the more powerful of the negotiating parties, enabling it to dictate the terms of its contract. As Suharto’s political confidence grew and as the American company’s finan- cial investment in the province increased—and by association its vulner- ability—the balance of power shifted in Jakarta’s favor. Eventually Free- port became another lucrative source of patronage for the president. E a r ly Histo ry of Fr e e p o rt in West Pa p ua In 1936, while on an expedition to the center
