The behavioral adaptation is where the parrot fish makes a bubble around it when it is sleeping to protect it from blood sucking muukas. But if the parrot fish makes the bubble over a sharpish rock, the bubble can pop and the fish would be exposed. 2: Flamingo: Flamingos are pretty cool birds. I mean they’re tall, they’re pink, but not all of them are pink. The reason for this is because Flamingos only turn pink because the food they eat. For example, Flamingos usually eat shrimp which is pink which turns them pink. So if you would like to keep a flamingo home and give it other food than shrimp, it would stay the color it was when it was born. Which is gray. 3: Crystal Quartz Cave: Yes, Crystal Quartz Caves actually do exist. But they are very rare to find. For instance, some caves contain 45-70 feet quartz attached to one side of it. 4: IC 1101: IC 1101 is the biggest thing known in the universe. I don’t know for sure, but I think it is a huge cloud in our observable universe. Scientists say that there are probably way bigger things than just IC 1101. 5: Planet X??: Planet X is a known planet that I’m not so sure about. Apparently, on youtube there is a strange myth that a planet called Planet X. -

This research is discussing connotative and denotative meaning consisting in emotion words in the lyrics of Twenty One Pilots’ songs in Blurryface album. The songs are Heavydirtysoul, Stressed Out, Ride, Fairly Local, Tear In My Heart, Lane Boy, The Judge, Doubt, Polarize, We Don’t Belive What’s On TV, Message Man, Hometown, Not Today and Goner. The meaning of emotion words in those song imply the songwriter’s background. The emotion words are classified based on Robert Plutchik and Henry Kellerman’s book titled Emotion: Theory, Research, and Experiment. Then, those emotion words are analysed using semantics theory to find the meaning and how the songwriter’s background is implied. The method which is used in this research is qualitative method because the research is describing verbal data which is the words in the song lyrics. THE BOOGIE! A NIGHTCLUB THAT DEFIED TRADITIONAL PROBLEM SOLVING EFFORTS or when Jack met SARA Anaheim Police Department South District Community Policing Team Tourist Oriented Policing Team District Commander, Lieutenant David Vangsness Summary The Boogie, a nightclub that operated in Anaheim for over 25 years, maintained a reputation as one of the most popular clubs in Southern California. It operated under various banners including: The Crescendo, The Cowboy, The Bandstand, The Cowboy- Boogie and finally The Boogie. Each change in name represented a change in both the music format and the clientele who patronized the club. What remained constant were the challenges the club created for the community. As is often the case, the police department would be the driving force in addressing these challenges. The Boogie brought all of the common problems expected of a large nightclub. As with any concentration of alcohol, high-energy music and young adults, the club’s problems included: fights, intoxicated patrons and parking and traffic congestion. Beyond these “traditional” problems, in later years The Boogie severely impacted surrounding businesses, forcing them to hire security, close their doors during peak hours, and endure ongoing customer complaints. As the club evolved into a Hip-Hop and Rap format, stabbings, shootings and firearms seizures became routine. Two homicides were committed by patrons leaving the club in its last year of operation, 2006. The Anaheim Police Department became stuck in a recurring loop while trying to solve the challenges in and around The Boogie. Scanning revealed a problem; analysis suggested a fix; responses were usually effective; but assessment often turned into a new round of response and assessment, as a problem recurred, or a new problem arose. -

Delicadeza e conflito na música: Los Hermanos e outras ressonâncias1 Paulo Gajanigo á certo tipo de canto, certa sutileza na voz, que tem reverberado na música brasileira. Se espalha em pequenas ondas, deixando marcas cada vez mais Hprofundas. Diferente dos movimentos conhecidos na música popular brasileira, não é possível encontrar laços nítidos entre músicos. Não é a Bossa Nova, não é a Tropicália, é algo mais etéreo, não tem referência geográfica clara nem um circuito cultural específico. Na ausência de um movimento claro de identidade gerada por laços fortes, a tarefa de nomear está do lado da crítica. O músico Rômulo Fróes tem sido o principal vocalizador do que se está chamando de nova música brasileira. Para Fróes, a geração a ser nomeada tem uma determinante fundamental: “ela foi moldada por um novo modo de produção musical. Até o começo dos anos 1990, o caminho para um artista chegar ao disco era muito difícil, pra não dizer quase impossível, se pensarmos que o filtro criado pelas grandes gravadoras para a produção de um disco era, antes de tudo, econômico” (2009). Para o músico, essa nova situação permite maior domínio técnico do artista sobre o processo de produção e tem consequências estéticas. Há um gosto pelo detalhe, por cada pequeno processo. Essa artesania está envolvida por um ambiente vintage, que, derivando da indicação de Fróes, aparece na sonoridade por vezes propositalmente arcaica, numa conexão tropicalista entre instrumentos musicais de alta tecnologia e os instrumentos mais singelos. Ou mesmo na captação de som aparentemente despretensiosa. Esse ambiente é o pequeno estúdio, às vezes na própria casa, com pequenos equipamentos, modernos e portáteis: o símbolo da atual indústria vintage. -

Departamento de Letras CARTOGRAFIAS DA PALAVRA CANTADA: MAPEAMENTO DO CENÁRIO DA MÚSICA AUTORAL CARIOCA NOS ANOS 00 Aluno: Breno Góes Orientador: Júlio Diniz 1 Introdução Este texto propõe-se a ser o relatório de um ano de trabalho do aluno de Letras Breno Cesar de Oliveira Góes sobre o cenário da música autoral carioca na última década, através da bolsa PIBIC, e visa apresentar os resultados alcançados no processo, além de esclarecer os critérios utilizados. O aluno, orientado pelo Professor Doutor Júlio Cesar Valladão Diniz, procurou estabelecer critérios e bases para um conjunto de verbetes sobre os indivíduos e grupos musicais que compuseram a cena carioca da última década, além de elaborar os primeiros verbetes desse corpus, embora sem a pretensão de esgotamento. 2 Objetivos O objetivo último do trabalho é o traçado de um panorama geral da cena musical carioca nos anos 2000, visando fornecer arcabouço para a crescente rede de pesquisadores em música popular brasileira, engajados na reflexão teórica e em análises do tema sobre os mais diversos aspectos (musicológico, sociológico, histórico...). Acrescente-se que a importância do trabalho é aumentada pelo caráter sui generis do recorte temporal estudado, ainda pouco compreendido pela academia por ser recente e ter sido moldado pela miríade de recursos proporcionados pela internet. 3 Metodologia O modelo de verbete a ser seguido foi o utilizado pelo Dicionário Cravo Albin da Música Popular Brasileira, coordenado academicamente e co-desenvolvido pelo Professor Doutor Júlio Diniz com apoio da FAPERJ e da FINEP. Para dar início ao conjunto de verbetes, demos prioridade a bandas, conjuntos e coletivos musicais.
