After two conferences hosted in Toronto, in 1996 and 1998 the World Energy System Conference has held in Irkutsk (Russia), Tokyo (Japan), Oradea (Romania), Torino (Italy), Iaşi (Romania), Târgovişte (Romania). Ştefan cel Mare University of Suceava is one of the most dynamic universities in Eastern Europe and provides a comprehensive curriculum, with more than 100 programs of study at degree, master’s degree, doctoral and postdoctoral level in various areas as socio-technical human, economic, and natural sciences. The aim of the 2012 International World Energy System Conference – WESC, is to support an integrated energy system through competitive, reliable, sustainable and secure energy solutions. The conference will create a link for the participants to share their knowledge and experience and for the cross-fertilization of new ideas and developments in energy systems.     20 April 2019 Chess Notes item 11302 This list of Florin Gheorghiu’s tournament and match results has been compiled by Florin Dănănău (Bucharest), who comments: ‘Turneu internaţional stands for round-robin tournament; meci-turneu de baraj means a double round-robin tournament; C. E. = European championship. C. M. = world championship. C. N. = national championship. The asterisk appended to 11 entries denotes that full information is currently lacking. In the case of open tournaments the figure is the number of players. The Romanian flag indicates contests played by Gheorghiu as a member of the national team. This record has been compiled from numerous sources, but mainly from the Revista Română de Șah, the Schweizerische Schachzeitung, non-Romanian newspaper archive websites (including www.e-newspaperarchives.ch) and Romanian newspapers available in paper form in Bucharest libraries. I have checked a few entries orally with Gheorghiu himself. In spring 2014 he nominally retired from competitive chess. Subsequent events, from 2014 to 2019, are unofficial and are listed, in italics, only for the sake of completeness.
