After returning from Badrinath, Adiyen also visited Tirumala-Tirupati and participated in Vimsathi darshanam a scheme which allows a family of 6 members to have Suprabatham, Nijapada and SahasraDeepalankara seva for any 2 consecutive days in a year . It was only due to the abundant grace of Thiruvengadamudaiyan adiyen was able to vist all the Divya desams without any difficulty. Before proceeding further, Adiyen would like to thank all the internet bhagavathas especially Sri Rangasri group members and M.S.Ramesh for providing abundant information about these divya desams. I have uploaded a Map of the hills again downloaded from UP Tourism site for ready reference . As Adiyen had not planned the trip in advance, it was not possible to join “package tour” organised by number of travel agencies and could not do as it was Off season. Adiyen wishes to share my experience with all of you and request the bhagavathas to correct the shortcomings. Adiyen was blessed to take my father aged about 70 years a heart patient , to this divya desam and it would not be an exaggeration to say that only because of my acharyar’s and elders’ blessings , the trip was very comfortable.

Hindu believes that lord Vishnu got salvation from curse of Brinda (wife of Jalandhar) here. Therefore he is worshipped as Muktinath (Lit. the lord of salvation). The holy shrine, which is said to have risen on its own, is one of eight such shrines (the others include Srirangam, Sri Mushnam, Tirupati, Naimisaranyam, Thottadri, Pushkaram and Badrinath). This Pagoda Style Muktinath Temple is also one of 108 Vaishnava shrines. Here in the early 19th century the Hindus consecrated a Vishnu temple and named is Muktinath - Lord of Liberation. Against a backdrop of incredible starkness you can sit and stare to the south the snow covered Annapurna range, or to the north the Tibetan plateau Importances: According to Hindu Myth it is belief that this world is "MAYA" (an illusion) of life cycle of birth and rebirth. Everybody seek to get rid of this cycle and get nirvana. A visit to Muktinath will help to achieve this goal. There are 108 waterspouts in the back yard of this temple called as Muktidhara where froozen water are continuously flowing from the bull head and two Kunda (ponds in front of the temple).

U.Ve. Sowmyanarayanachariar of ThiruveLLaRai as a curtain raiser before we embark on the anubhavam of Kaliyan. ThiruveLLaRai is otherwise called as Aadhi ThiruveLLaRai or Sri SvEta Giri. The word Aadhi as a prefix for this Divya Desam indicates its ancient character; the suffix Thiru refers to its exalted state. VeLLarai and SvEta Giri are names associated with the hillock here, which is made of white granite slabs. It is considered ancient, since the legend has it that this temple predates that of Srirangam. This divya Desam is located 15 Kilometers north of Srirangam on the Tiruchi-Turayur road. THE ASSOCIATION OF SIBI CHAKRAVARTHY WITH THIS STHALAM Emperor Sibi was a predecessor of Sri Ramachandra. He spent time at SvEtagiri with his army on his way to Lanka to engage RavaNaa in combat and to teach him a lesson.

  • Sri Vaishnava Sampradaya Saara Nidhi(In Tamil) by Sri P.B.Annangarachariar Swamy
Sri VaishNaVa Sampradaya Saara Nidhi(in Tamil) By Sri P.B.Annangarachariar Swamy (The quintessence of of VaishNaVa Tradition) English Translation by Vengrai Parthasarathy Many are the ‘Living Creatures’ created by Brahma, the Lord of Creation (who is himself a creation of Sri Narayana). To be born a Human is a special privilege. And, to be born as a Hindu, that too a Sri VaishNaVa is a matchless blessing, because it is the cumulative effect or fruit of generational virtuous deeds (Karma). At the same time this privileged position carries with it many an obligation. To enhance its value, a true VaishNaVa has to know what the tradition is about and follow certain daily duties (dinacharya) or guide-lines. Lord Maha Vishnu, (known also as Narayana and Vasudeva among a thousand other names) manifested Himself in many AvatArs on earth to animate house-holders who may have lost their spiritual moorings and to crush evil doers and protect the virtuous (ParitharANAya SadhunAm, vinAashAya dushskruthAm). Archa-s are consecrated idols in the Divya Desam-s (108) the most prominent of which are Tirumalai, Srirangam, KAnchipuram, and TirunArayanapuram (Melkote) shrines. To bring home these truths the Lord has deputed Azhvar-s and Acharyas in human form. VaishNaVas are expected to follow sincerely the daily observances' (anushtAnam-s). We shall now follow through the highlights, by citing important things that Sri VaishnavA-s should know and do..
