(The concert will be rebroadcast on television on Friday, May 14, at 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.; and on Monday, May 17, at 10 a.m. and 10 p.m.) Tonight's performance will be replayed on the Internet and cable TV 15 minutes after the concert ends. The entire concert video will be archived in a few days for viewing anytime you wish on ntjazz.com. JAZZ CD CLEARANCE SALE!!!!! On sale tonight in the lobby for only $5 each is a Featuring... collection of NT Jazz CDs from past years. Take this opportunity to complete your NT jazz library while helping Mr. Warrick clean out his office. WAYNE BERGERON Tonight's concert, along with recordings made at the Jazz Festival and Fall Jazz Concert, will be used to create our next CD, which will be available for sale Trumpet from any member of a jazz ensemble beginning in May. The New Trier High School Music Department has been selected by the Grammy Foundation to recieve a Grammy for being the best overall high school music program in the country! We will celebrate when the Grammy is presented in a special concert featuring the "capstone" performance ensembles, including the Jazz Ensemble I, on Tuesday night, May 22, in Gaffney Auditorium. Tickets will be required for this free concert and more information will be made avail- Friday, April 13, 2007 able soon once concert plans are more defined. Since only one school music Gaffney Auditorium department is selected each year, this is the highest honor that can be be- stowed on a high school music program. Winnetka, Illinois Wayne Bergeron is enjoying a career as one of the most active players on the Los Angeles scene. With Announcing... studio dates, International touring, jazz concerts, guest soloist appearances and clinics he has no intention of slowing down. COMBO NIGHT In 1986 Wayne landed the lead trumpet position with the Maynard Ferguson Band. He can be heard on Featuring the final exam concert by such MF recordings as “Body & Soul”, “Big Bop our 2006-2007 Jazz Combos Nouveau” & “Brass Attitude.” Remarking on the talented trumpet player, Maynard Ferguson had this to say during a radio interview: “Wayne is the most Freshman Combo musical lead trumpet player I’ve ever had on my band.” instructed by Doug Rosenberg Bergeron’s first solo Big Band CD entitled “You Call This A Living?” earned him a Grammy nomination in 2004 for Best Large Jazz Ensemble. Several Tuesday Combo selections he is performing tonight are included on that CD and his newest instructed by Bret Spainhour CD, "Plays Well With Others".
