Finally, my dream came true and after six years of my effort and with the help of some Jain community members in India, finally I have put together this document. It took me this long because I had to struggle to get lots of information and talked to many scholars, Sadhus in India to get information, particularly about Dev Devies, particularly 16 Vidya Devies, as this information is not available in original Jain scriptures. Dev Devies came about seventh century in the era of Sri Yasovijay Maharaj Saheb. He was the big sadhak of Sri Saraswati Devi. With the help of her sadhana, he convinced many Brahamins about Jain religion and philosophy. I would like to thank Dr.

October, 2016 Vol. No. 195 Ahimsa Times in World Over + 100000 The Only Jain E-Magazine Community Service for 14 Continuous Years Readership DIWA LI AND JAINISM Diwali has a very special significance in Jainism. It marks the anniversary of Nirvana of Mahavira's soul, the twenty fourth Jain Tirthankara of present cosmic age. It is celebrated at the same time as the Hindu festival of Diwali. Diwali marks the New Year for the Jain group and it likewise remembers the passing commemoration of their 24th Tirthankara Mahavira and his achievement of moksha. Mahavira attained Moksha on this day at Pavapuri on Oct. 15, 527 BCE, on Chaturdashi of Kartika, as confirmed by Tilyapannatti of Yativrashaba. Mahavira, the 24th Tirthankara of this era, revitalised Jain dharma. According to tradition, the chief disciple of Mahavira, Ganadhara Gautam Swami also attained complete knowledge (Kevala Jnana) on this day, thus making Diwali one of the most important Jain festivals. Mahavira attained his nirvana at the dawn of the amavasya (new moon). According to the Swetamber text Kalpasutra, many gods were present there, illuminating the darkness. The following night was pitch black without the light of the gods or the moon. To symbolically keep the light of their master's knowledge alive, 16 Gana-kings, 9 Malla and 9 Lichchhavi, of Kasi and Kosal, illuminated their doors. They said: "Since the light of knowledge is gone, we will make light of ordinary matter" (" Rc aW c, [ W cè Pःb ". Dipavali was mentioned in Jain books as the date of the nirvana of Mahavira.

RAJSAMAND DECLARATION ON TRAINING IN NONVIOLENCE Adapted by THE SECOND INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON PEACE AND NONVIOLENT ACTION Held at Rajsamand, India from February 17 to 21, 1991 Along with • Petition Submitted to UNO, UNESCO For the Creation of International Zones of Peace • A Suggested Course for Training in Nonviolence • Other important documents relating to the Second ICPNA Preface The Second International Conference on Peace and Nonviolent Action was held at Rajsamand (India) from February 17 to 21, '91. The main aim of the conference was to involve peace activists, theorists in nonviolent action, exponents of the philosophy of nonviolence, spiritual leaders and parliamentarians in formulating a universally acceptable plan for the training and orientation of people in ahimsa from a global perspective. Despite the Gulf War, a large number of delegates both from the overseas and from the host country came to Rajsamand to participate in this unique and significant conference which dealt at length with the questions of violence and nonviolence and reached the conclusion that it is only through the adoption of nonviolence by individuals, institutions and na- tions as a means to resolve conflict, the challenge of violence can be met effectively. Both Acharya Tulsi and Yuvacharya Mahapragya who were the main source of inspiration for the organization of the II ICPNA made panel presentations and recommended the launching of a worldwide campaign to educate and train people in ahimsa. The First ICPNA held at Ladnun in December, 1988 issued an action plan for the eradication of violence from this planet called Ladnun Declara- tion and recommended that a course of training in nonviolence should be evolved.

From Ignorance to Innocence Answers to the Seekers on the Path Talks given from 29/11/84 pm to 29/12/84 pm English Discourse series CHAPTER 1 Pseudo-religion: the stick-on soul 29 November 1984 pm in Lao Tzu Grove Question 1 OSHO, WHY IS HUMANITY TODAY BECOMING MORE AND MORE MISERABLE? THE cause is very simple, perhaps too simple. It is very close, very obvious, and this is the reason why most of the people go on missing seeing it. When something is very obvious you start taking it for granted. When something is too close to your eyes you cannot see it. For seeing, some distance is needed. So the first thing I would like you to remember is that it is not only today that humanity is miserable. It has always been miserable. Misery has almost become our second nature. We have lived in it for thousands of years. That closeness does not allow us to see it; otherwise it is so obvious. But to see the obvious you need a child’s vision. And we are all carrying thousands of years in our eyes. Our eyes are old; they cannot see afresh. They have already accepted things, and forgotten that those things are the very cause of misery. The religious prophets, the political leaders, the moral lawgivers – you have respected them, not even suspecting that they are the cause of your misery. How can you suspect them? Those people 2 CHAPTER 1. PSEUDO-RELIGION: THE STICK-ON SOUL have served humanity, sacrificed themselves for humanity.
