  • Breath Becoming a Word
BREATH BECOMING A WORD CONTMPORARY GUJARATI POETRY IN ENGLISH TRANSLATION EDITED BY DILEEP JHAVERI ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS My earnest thanks to GUJARAT SAHITYA AKADEMI for publishing this book and to Harshad Trivedi. With his wholehearted support a dream is fulfilled. Several of these translations have appeared in INDIAN LITERATURE- Sahitya Akademi Delhi MUSEINDIA KRITYA- web journals and elsewhere. Thanks to all of them. Cover page painting by Late Jagdeep Smart with the kind permission of Smt Nita Smart and Rajarshi Smart Dedicated to PROF. K. SATCHIDANANDAN The eminent poet of Malayalam who has continuously inspired other Indian languages while becoming a sanctuary for the survival of Poetry. BREATH BECOMING A WORD It’s more than being in love, boy, though your ringing voice may have flung your dumb mouth thus: learn to forget those fleeting ecstasies. Far other is breath of real singing. An aimless breath. A stirring in the god. A breeze. Rainer Maria Rilke From Sonnets To Orpheus This is to celebrate the breath becoming a word and the joy of word turning into poetry. This is to welcome the lovers of poetry in other languages to participate in the festival of contemporary Gujarati poetry. Besides the poets included in this selection there are many who have contributed to the survival of Gujarati poetry and there are many other poems of the poets in this edition that need to be translated. So this is also an invitation to the friends who are capable to take over and add foliage and florescence to the growing garden of Gujarati poetry. Let more worthy individuals undertake the responsibility to nurture it with their taste and ability.

The 100-year-old institution will also correct facts related to Gujarati literature on the site. This was discussed at a discussion organised by the literary institution on the issue of Gujarati language, Wikipedia and internet on Sunday. Veteran Gujarati littérateurs like Ratilal Borisagar and Ramalal Soni discussed the authenticity of information posted on Wikipedia. Secretary of Gujarati Sahitya Parishad, Rajendra Patel said, "If we want to pass on a rich legacy of Gujarati language to next generation of Gujaratis, we must use the technology and medium of expression available. Of course, we should check the authenticity of the facts and information posted on the net. Gujarati Parishad is posting Gujarati literature on Wikipedia and as an institution, we would like to check the information available on the site." Dhaval Vyas, a UK-based member of Gujarati Wikipedia, who works in a multinational bank, said, "It is the characteristic of Wikipedia that anybody can add, edit or remove information. Of course, there will be people who may distort the content." He further said, "The issue of authenticity of the content put on Wikipedia can be taken care of if more and more people start uploading information and verify the content." Vyas also argued that while there are millions of pages in English, there are only 21,000 pages in Gujarati available on Gujarati Wikipedia.

Press Release Ice Make Refrigeration Limited February 18, 2019 Ratings Amount Facilities Ratings1 Rating Action (Rs. crore) Long-term Bank Facilities^ - - Withdrawn 19.00 CARE BBB+; Stable / CARE A2 Long-term/Short-term (enhanced from (Triple B Plus; Outlook: Reaffirmed Bank Facilities Rs.12.50 crore) Stable / A Two) 19.00 Total Facilities (Rupees Nineteen Crore only) Details of instruments/facilities in Annexure-1 ^rating assigned to term loan of Rs.1.53 crore has been withdrawn since the entire amount has been repaid in full. Detailed Rationale & Key Rating Drivers The ratings for the bank facilities of Ice Make Refrigeration Limited (IMRL) continue to derive strength from the long standing experience of its promoters in refrigeration equipment manufacturing coupled with presence of established customer base. Further, the ratings take into account healthy growth in its total operating Income during FY18 (FY refers to period from April 01 to March 31) and H1FY19 along with its comfortable capital structure, debt coverage indicators and liquidity. The ratings, however, continue to remain constrained on account of IMRL’s moderate scale of operations, susceptibility of operating profitability to volatility in input costs and stiff competition from organized players in the industry. IMRL’s ability to increase its scale of operations and improve its profitability while maintaining its comfortable capital structure along with efficient management of its working capital cycle efficiently are the key rating sensitivities. Detailed description of the key rating drivers Key Rating Strengths Promoters’ experience in the refrigeration business: IMRL’s key promoter, Mr. Chandrakant Patel, has over two decades of experience in the refrigeration equipment industry.
