Innovative, Integrated Ads Showcase Network Ten’s KFC BBL Sponsors. Andrew “Freddie” Flintoff, Brett Lee and some the biggest names in Australian cricket star in brand new integrated ads for sponsors of the KFC Big Bash League, live and exclusive this summer on Network Ten. The tailored ads for Lipton, ahm and AMF capture the energy and excitement of the explosive summer ratings sensation and were written and produced by Network Ten’s award-winning Commercial Integration department. The highly-anticipated 2015-16 KFC Big Bash League season kicked off last night with an electrifying opener between cross-town rivals the Sydney Sixers and the Sydney Thunder. 1.25 million viewers nationally watched Session 2 and 1.22 million viewers nationally watched Session 1 as the Sydney Thunder beat their arch-rivals. These exciting new campaigns demonstrate the importance and power of tailoring creative to a major sporting broadcast.” The three campaigns mark the first time Network Ten and Multi Channel Network have partnered to deliver innovative and highly entertaining integrated content for sponsors. MCN National Sports Sales Director, Martin Medcraf, said: “The KFC Big Bash League has been a great success for both Ten and MCN. “Being one of the first major properties since Ten and MCN started their partnership on 1 September this year, it was received extremely well by the market. As a unified business we are delivering some fantastic results for our clients.” In Lipton Ice Tea’s campaign, KFC Big Bash League commentator Freddie Flintoff travels to the hottest town in Australia, where he drinks Lipton Ice Tea to cool off. Filmed in WA’s Marble Bar, Freddie uses his trademark sense of humour to endure temperatures of 46 degrees. In a series of further Tea Break ads, Lipton Ice Tea helps the cricket legend cool off in the commentary box and on the field. Share | TRI Posted byo Eiz n Thursday, 08 March, 2012, 12:06 PM Australia held their nerve to win the deciding third match of the tri-series final against Sri Lanka by 16 runs at the Adelaide Oval. Shane Watson's side batted first and posted 231 as the hosts were bowled out with three balls of their innings remaining with David Warner and Matthew Wade both falling with their half-centuries in sight. Upul Tharanga compiled a masterful 71 with wickets tumbling around him, and Mahela Jayawardene's side fell just short with seven deliveries remaining as Clint McKay produced an inspired spell with five wickets to close out victory. Australia selected two spinners but it was the quicker bowlers who made the difference with the outstanding McKay (5-28), Brett Lee (3-29) and stand-in skipper Shane Watson (2-13) all contributing as they dismissed Sri Lanka for 215 with six balls remaining. Australia will now retain the number one ranking in the one-day international championship for a third successive year unless they lose all five matches on their upcoming tour of West Indies. The Sri Lankans, who won the toss and elected to field, would have been delighted with their victory target of 232 after chasing down 272 with ease on the same ground two days ago to level the series.
