Robert “Bob” Whytock Mr. Robert “Bob” Whytock graduated in 1948 from Mexico High School and then from the University of Maine Orono, class of 1952 where he also attended and earned his master’s degree in education in 1954. After graduation, he was drafted into the army and served the Maine Principals’ Association in partnership with United States for two years. We thank him for his service. In 1963, Bob became the Assistant Principal, a position he held until Hall of Excellence he became the principal of Cony in 1976. Bob retired from the principalship in 1984. While in graduate school, Bob served as assistant coach and started scouting football for UMO Inductees which he did for many years. Barbara Krause Fern Masse Jim DiFrederico Irving “I.J.” Pinkham Ann Turbyne Andrews Robert “Bob” Whytock Ann Turbyne Andrews Program Ms. Ann Turbyne Andrews graduated from Winslow High School in 1975 and then from the university of Maine, Orono with a Bachelor of Science in Education in 1981. While she was in high school, Ann competed in Track and Field all four years with only one loss during her tenure. She 6:00 p.m. won the KVCC and State Meets in 1973, 74 and 75 in discus. She also won the KVCC and State Meets in the 8-pound shot put all four years. She broke the National High School Rec- Welcome ord at KVC in 1975 with 52’ 6.5”. Ann received the Outstanding Field Event Award all four years of high school and in 1975, she received the Mansfield Award given each year to a graduating sen- ior who was considered the most outstanding athlete at Winslow High School. She was the first 6:15 p.m. female athlete to ever win this award. The next year, Winslow High School changed the award to go to both a male and female athlete. Recognition of Inductees After high school, Ann won 1st place in the Jr. National Track and Field Championship in 1975. The same year, she came in 6th place at the Sr National Track and Field Championship. In 1976, Ann came in 1st place in the Sr Indoor National Track and Field Championship. She came in 2nd place at the Sr National Championship in both 1978 and 1979. Ann came in 2nd place during the 1980 Olympic Trials. As a true powerhouse, she also won Na- 7:30 p.m. tional Powerlifting Championships each year from 1978 – 1980, and broke 4 world records.
