Operation Auca, 64 Years Later

I still remember reading the story of and the four other men martyred January 8, 1956. God used these men and their wives to bring the gospel to the Auca Indian tribe is . Their commitment to God and the gospel of Christ changed the direction of my life. God impressed on my heart to go to the mission field. These men, completely on fire for Christ, gave , , Jim Eliot, Nate Saint, Ed McCuly their lives bringing God’s love to the unreached. Just last week a former student stopped by my office to let me know they have been accepted as iTEC , the mission organization started by Nate’s son, . I was moved; God is still using the loss of these five men to motivate people to be gospel proclaimers all around the globe and see lives changed through Christ. The world claimed their deaths as a tragic loss, but God had other plans.

“I have one desire now-to live a life of reckless abandon for the Lord, putting all “During the last war (WW II) we were my energy and strength into it,” September taught to recognize that, in order to 22,1950 Ed McCully obtain our objective, we had to be willing to be expendable. Yet, when the Lord Jesus asks us to pay the price for world evangelization, we often answer … It costs too much … God "We must be global Christians with didn’t hold back His only Son…” a global vision because our God is Nate Saint a global God.” -Nate Saint
