Stcve Haberman and Deserie tluddlrston and onto Cyprus via Singapore and Bahrh leaving at mldnlght On my arrival in Melbourne I was met bv GuUALr officials to be informed that the iirearms would notbe transferred fmm one plane to another at Bahrain. After many phone calls between Melbourne. Sydney and Bahraln bv Gulf Air officials. the aircraft left without us. and so we st&d to look for an alternative alrhe to get us to hms.At 2.30am this was arranged with British maysvia London at 2pm that day so we headed for a well earned sleep.

We eventually arrived a day late after sorne 36 hours on the move, the rest of the team had been competing in Flnland and lad arrived the day before. lley had settled into the Beau Nvagc Hotel. had a days pracucr, and on our arrival were atrendlng the Opening Ceremony. Aitcr a much appreciated shower. we badan wenine- meal and got- readv for the last official day of practice. Following the selection by the Shooting Committee of the two (21 clay target competitors to accompany me to Russia on t.s Olympic Councll funded pmgram, we departed for Moscow on the 23rd May 1995. Ow task as set out by the Olympic Councll and the ASA High Performance Manager was to see and assess the possible future use of Russian Coaches and thelr shooting facllltles.

Also at the air- port was Dr llya Shleper (Russian Team Doctor), whom I had Drevioushr met and had contact prior to our departure.
