Mizzou improved to 12-2 in Tilmon's career when he scores at least 16 points. • Among active SEC players, Tilmon ranks sixth in career points (958), fifth in rebounds (532) and fourth in blocks (103). • Tilmon has solidified himself as arguably the SEC's best center and one of nation's toughest matchups in the paint. During league play, he leads all SEC players in field goal percentage with a scalding .637 clip, leads all SEC centers in scoring at 13.9 PPG, ranks fourth in rebounds (7.2) and fifth in blocked shots (1.8). • Defensively, Tilmon is a menace. Over his last nine games played, he has 22 blocks (2.4 per game), with 2+ blocks six times. • Offensively, Tilmon's career 57.6 percent clip is on pace for fourth all-time at Mizzou. • Tilmon returned for a fourth season in Columbia after testing the NBA Draft waters over the summer. The seasoned big man has made 92 starts, played in 99 games and netted 958 points as a Tiger. Tilmon had scored 16+ points just eight times in three seasons before this year. He did so five times in January. He is 42 points shy of becoming the 47th member of Mizzou's 1,000 point club. Once he reaches that mark, he'll join a pantheon of only five Tiger greats with at least 1,000 points, 500 rebounds and 100 blocks: Arthur Johnson, Laurence Bowers, Steve Stipanovich, Doug Smith and Jevon Crudup. • Tilmon put together a ridiculous performance vs. TCU on Jan. 30 in which he racked up a career-high 33 points on 13-of-16 shooting, 11 rebounds and three blocks. Tilmon is one of two players nationally this season with at least 33 points, 11 boards and three blocks in a single game alongside Kent State's Danny Pippen. • Tilmon entered his senior campaign with six career double-doubles. He has six this season, which matches the most by a Tiger in a campaign since Jonathan Williams III had six double- doubles in 2014-15. Tilmon ranks eighth all-time in program history with 103 blocks. • Tilmon's team-best 7.6 rebounds per game clip ranks fourth in the SEC for all games and is the highest by a Tiger since Alex Oriakhi in 2012-13 (8.4). In his 22 career games with at least eight rebounds, Mizzou is 19-3. Mizzou is 12-2 this season when Tilmon grabs 5+ rebounds and 6-1 when he grabs 10+ boards. • He's on pace to become the first Mizzou player in more than 30 years to shoot at least 54 percent in all four seasons. DEEP ROTATION •A key to Mizzou's success has been experience. Martin's squad features one of the most experienced rosters in all of , returning 88.13 percent of its scoring from a season ago, which ranks third among all Power 5 conference teams, trailing only Texas and UCLA. The returners are responsible for 97.5 percent of Mizzou's points through 20 games. Seven Tigers are averaging 19.2 minutes or more thru 20 games, with six contributing at least 6.9 points and four posting at least 10.0 points on the season. • The roster features five players with 700+ career points (Dru, Jeremiah, Drew, Mark and Xavier) and six with 500+ career points (Smith, Tilmon, Buggs, Xavier Pinson, Mark Smith and Javon Pickett). Mizzou's 12-man roster features 10 players with at least junior (or redshirt sophomore) eligibility standing, making Mizzou the SEC's oldest team. • Sophomore Kobe Brown - the youngest rotation player Mizzou has - turned 21 on New Year's Day. Brown has been outstanding of late, grabbing a career-high 13 rebounds vs. TCU. That's the most rebounds by a Tiger this season and the most since Jontay Porter grabbed 13 at Ole Miss on Feb. 6, 2018. Brown ranks 14th in the SEC in rebounding with 6.0 boards per game in just 20.4 minutes per game. Kobe has 6+ rebounds in a game 17 times thus far during his career, and Mizzou is 12-5 in those games. Brown added 13 points and nine boards in 23 minutes vs. No. 10 Alabama. Mizzou is 4-1 this season when Brown scores in double figures and 10-2 when he grabs 6+ boards. Mizzou had four players with 8+ rebounds vs. Alabama, led by Brown. The last time the Tigers had four players with 8+ boards in the same game was 2004 vs. No. 21 UNLV. • Coach Martin bolstered his backcourt in the offseason with the addition of Hawaii transfer Drew Buggs, who set the Rainbow Warriors' all-time career assists record with 437 dimes. This season, became just the 16th active Division I player with 450+ assists. His 479 career assists rank 28th among all active players. His assist-to-turnover ratio is 3.2 (43 assists, 14 turnovers). Buggs has at least one assist in 18 of 20 games and 2+ dimes in 15 outings. Mizzou is 10-5 in those games. Buggs has 830 points, 403 rebounds, 479 assists and 110 steals. He is one of only seven active players nationally to hit all those marks in their career. • After starting 62 games through his first two campaigns, junior Javon Pickett made his first start of the season on Jan. 30 vs. TCU, scoring 11 points. Pickett, well-known for his relentless work ethic, trails only Tilmon on the team in field goal percentage, making 50.9 percent of his attempts, including a 51-for-93 (.551) effort from 2-point range. Since starting the campaign 1-for-11, he's made seven of his last 12 3-point attempts. He scored 10 points at Ole Miss & had 13 points at Auburn. Mizzou is 12-3 when he reaches double figures over the last two seasons. He finished with 14 points, on 6-of-8 shooting, vs. No. 6 Illinois. In three career games vs. the Illini, he's 3-0 while averaging 15.7 points and 5.0 rebounds and shooting 68.9 percent (20-of-29 FGs). Thru 20 games, Pickett has produced seven double-figure scoring efforts. • Fifth-year senior Mitchell Smith has also embraced coming off the bench, playing the fifth-most minutes on the team. He's chipping in 4.3 points and 5.0 rebounds (the third-most on the squad). Smith is the energy guy, who brings the emotion and has the ability to guard all five positions at 6-foot-10. He posted a career-high 12 performance vs. Kentucky. He is the third different Tiger to snag 12+ boards in game alongside Tilmon and Brown. Then he followed with a game-winning vs. No. 10 Alabama and finished with six points, eight boards and two blocks. Against Arkansas, he made his first start of the season in place of Tilmon. He posted eight points and seven boards in 26 quality minutes. Mizzou is 8-3 when he grabs 5+ rebounds this season and 7-2 when he contributes 5+ points. • Junior Torrence Watson had his best game of the season vs. Arkansas. He came off the bench and hit three 3-pointers en route to a season-high nine points. Most recently, he scored seven points at South Carolina. Watson has played in 80 of Mizzou's 83 games since arriving on campus. He's well-known for his energy on the bench and being a model teammate. 2020-21 MIZZOU BASKETBALL ROSTER # NAME HT WT POS CL CAREER PLAN HOMETOWN / HIGH SCHOOL PREVIOUS SCHOOL 0 Torrence Watson 6-5 205 G Jr. Entrepreneur Saint Louis, Mo. / Whitfield School 1 Xavier Pinson 6-2 170 G Jr. Broadcaster Chicago, Ill. / Simeon Academy 2 Drew Buggs 6-3 195 G RSr. Coaching Long Beach, Calif. / Long Beach Poly HS Hawaii 4 Javon Pickett 6-5 220 G Jr. Cyber Security Belleville, Ill. / Belleville East HS 5 Mitchell Smith 6-10 221 F RSr. Radio Broadcasting Van Buren, Ark. / Van Buren HS 11 Ed Chang 6-8 215 F Jr. Fashion Design Papillion, Neb. / Garfield HS San Diego St./Salt Lake CC 12 Dru Smith 6-3 203 G RSr. Wealth Management Evansville, Ind. / Evansville Reitz HS Evansville 13 Mark Smith 6-5 220 G Sr. Coach Edwardsville, Ill. / Edwardsville HS Illinois 23 Jeremiah Tilmon, Jr. 6-10 260 F Sr. Real Estate East St. Louis, Ill. / East St. Louis HS 24 Kobe Brown 6-7 240 F So.
