2. Chinese Clothes 2.1 Chinese male collar shirt: Tangzhuang (Chinese collar shirt) Chinese collar shirt was called “Tangzhuang” in Chinese language. The overseas Chinese people were called “Tang People” as it was the name given by Tang Dynasty, the dynasty that Chinese people were proud of since ancient time. The Chinese collar shirt was adjusted from a male jacket in the late of Qing Dynasty. Tangzhuang or Chinese collar shirt has four distinctive characteristics as follows; 1) The front opening shirt has the stand-up collar style. 2) The sleeves and the body part of the shirt are made of one piece of cloth. So, there is no seam between the sleeves and the body part of the shirt. 3) The shirt placket is straight or oblique. 4) The buttons of the shirt is Chinese frog buttons. In the past, Chinese men and women wore Chinese collar shirt with long sleeves The stand-up collar shirt is not quite popular among Chinese men at the present as they prefer the front opening shirt. Moreover, there are other distinctive characteristics for example colorful embroidered silk or satin. The popular fabric has various colors mostly blight red and dark red, reddish-brown, blue sapphire, bright golden yellow, emerald (bright green color), black and golden. 2.2 Chinese Women Dress: Qi pao Qipao was adapted from the costume of Manchu women or the people from Eight Banner System, the military divisions under the Qing dynasty.Qipao is the combination of various Chinese ethnic groups and it is considered as one of cultural heritage of Chinese garments. It is a sewing work that combines many arts together such as the art of embroidering cloth in the pattern of flowers and birds which reflects the cultural identity of China. At the present, Qipao is not used in daily life. It is mostly worn in Chinese traditions by Chinese people or Thai-Chinese descents. 2.3 Fabric From the past to present, there are two types of fabric that are popular among Chinese people. The first one is Chinese charmeuse fabric and the second one is Chinese silk fabric. Chinese silk is importantly characterized by patterns and almost a hundred bright colors. The silk can be used to make Qipao, shirts and to decorate shirts or various handicrafts. Example of Chinese Silk’s Pattern .

Tang dynasty clothing Continue Unified and prosperous China was founded in the Tang dynasty (618-907). In Chinese history, the Tang dynasty was a period when politics and the economy were well developed and culture and art flourished. The women's dress and the personal decorations of the Tang dynasty were excellent in Chinese history. The clothing materials were fine, the texture was natural, graceful and elegant, and the decorations were brilliant. Although the shapes of the garments were still a continuation of the Han dynasty (206BC-220AD) and the Sui dynasty (581-618), they were influenced by western cultures and arts. High Tang's national power in particular was strong. Trade and cultural exchanges with Korea, Vietnam, Japan, Persian and other countries gradually became more common, sending each other ambassadors and accepting students from other countries. In this way, a special open and romantic dress style and personal decorations were formed. Due to communication with the Western regions, the impact of the dress culture of other minorities on the Tang Court also reflected a change in ideas and concepts. Chinese women were severely constrained by the old Kungfutse or feudal ethical code throughout the ages. The social status of ancient women was very low: they often served under the nameJileren (music performer), Guanji (official performer), Gongji (palace performer) andJiaji (family performer), and were considered playful and goods that rich people can sell and buy. The aim is to create a four-season wardrobe collection through the idea of cultivating a personal style by working directly in the final material. I rather be with the material and give attention to the process of making, in hope of finding myself, instead of being in the realms of ideas and designing in pursuit of new expressions. My interest in fashion began with the notion of clothes as self-expression. I have come to believe that cultivating personal style is a sustainable way to approach fashion in terms of creating self-awareness in relation to clothes. A couple of years ago I started to experiment with what that meant to me. I decided to stop buying clothes and only make them myself as a tactic to cultivate my personal style of dressing as well as my craft by letting them inform each other. Through this research I discovered an interest in set-making and simple cutting which I wanted to explore further.

This paper analyzes the traditional costume culture in China deeply and explores the application of the traditional modeling elements in Chinese clothing culture and in modern clothing. The paper divides the characteristics of China 's traditional culture costumes into four parts.
