Cymunedol Where did that year go?

We have nearly reached the reckoning up stage of the calendar project, and now this issue is printed I can get on with that. It has been a long process. I would like to thank all the outlets who so very kindly took some for sale, as well as our printer, Jamprint, who printed them at cost, to support the cause. We will update you on the Debbie Ashton, funds raised in the next issue. Editor

I notice more and more that there are always people around us, some really close and some further afield, who need help and support. It is incredibly heartening to see people in our communities who simply knuckle down and get stuck into whatever is needed to help, whether to support a neighbour in need, or knitting bootees for Koala bears or Joey pouches for the wildlife injured in the fires currently ravaging Australia. The sense of community and willingness to help, is fantastic.

We still have the worst of the winter to come and so let’s remember to keep an eye open for neighbours who are living alone, particularly with all these viruses which are going around. If you haven’t seen someone for a day or two, and usually do, or in the event of power cuts, remember to knock the door to check all is ok, and they are able to keep warm. We are all so lucky to be living in this beautiful area, and to have the caring communities around us. Well done everyone!

Thank you to all the new volunteers who so kindly came forward and are delivering to homes in Tywyn, Bryncrug and Dolgellau. We are now giving our advertisers even more value for money by delivering Contributors/ to more than 1000 more homes. This could not be done with out the advertisers – Please volunteers so a HUGE thank you to all volunteers, new and old, you are note the submission all amazing and so very much appreciated. deadline for content in your diary (see Debbie Ashton – Editor right) –and supply in good time. The Beautiful Mawddach Estuary music. The bird calls which echo across the salt marsh are much wilder sounding and harder edged To my mind Wales has some of the most than the gentler, more ‘civilised’ sounds of the spectacular and scenic landscapes in Britain, dawn chorus of our garden and hedgerow birds. but one of the jewels in the crown is without a doubt the wonderful Mawddach Estuary and the The thin, wavering piping of the Oystercatchers surrounding area.
