The National Park Service strives to make the park as universally accessible as possible.

Your ﬁ rst stop is the Little River Canyon Center located at 4322 Little River Trail NE, Fort Payne, AL 35967. (GPS address: 472 Alabama Hwy 35). This building is accessible to wheelchairs and persons with disabilities. You can watch the movie which has captions for the hearing impaired and get maps of the area.

Little River Falls has a boardwalk that leads you down to a close-up view of the waterfall. There are picnic tables available near the parking lot.

Located at the north end of the Canyon, visitors can marvel at Little River Falls – one of Alabama’s most scenic waterfalls. POISON IVY FALLS MARTHA’S FALLS/LITTLE FALLS This large seasonal waterfall is the hardest to get to. LOST FALLS This waterfall is the most diffi cult to fi nd in DeSoto State Park. When water levels are low and the fall is not fl owing, it can appear truly lost. The best time to see this small 5 foot waterfall is in spring or winter seasons. Lost Falls is located about 1.5 miles from Desoto’s Country Store and terrain can vary between moderate and mild. AZALEA CASCADE This small cascade fl ows into a pool located at the end of the Talmadge Butler Boardwalk Trail. Azalea Falls may also be reached by following the red trail located behind the Country Store which sits at the center of DeSoto State Park.
