2 3 Dear Andermatt Guest The road between Göschenen and Andermatt has been closed to road traffic since Monday 25 May 2015. A rockfall above the ‘Tanzenbein’ gallery makes the Schöllenen Gorge impassable to road traffic until further notice. However, you can still reach Andermatt quickly and conveniently. The holiday region of Andermatt remains the most easily and quickly accessible resort in the Swiss .

By Car and Motorcycle Anyone planning to travel to the Andermatt region by car or motorcycle should take the road over the Gotthard Pass to Andermatt, or . If you are coming from the north, take the Gotthard Road in Göschenen and follow the signs for the Gotthard Pass in . The Overalp and Furka passes are both open. Driving through these impressive passes is sure to be an unforgettable and breath- taking experience.

By Rail The Matterhorn-Gotthard Railway continues to run from Göschenen to Andermatt. Simply park your car or motorcycle in Göschenen (even for several days) and you will be in Andermatt in ten minutes. There is plenty of parking, which is also well signposted. Visit www.mgbahn.ch for exact departure times. Over and above the scheduled services, the Matterhorn-Gotthard Railway is also laying on the following additional services:

Hiking Regrettably the hiking route between Göschenen and Andermatt is also directly ­affected by the rockfall and is also closed until further notice. The «Devil’s Bridge», the Suvorov Monument and the circular route in the upper Schöllenen Gorge ­continually to be accessible on foot from Andermatt.
