Despite a liberal secular constitution that guarantees freedom of speech and assembly, in practice people can, have been, and are being arrested for criticizing public officials or their policies under laws dating back to the colonial era such as the law on sedition. What is worse, however, is that if someone arrested manages to get bail under the original charge, the police, at their whim, re-arrest the same person, under far more draconian laws, such as the “anti-terrorist” UAPA (Unlawful Activities Prevention Act) that makes bail extremely difficult, if not impossible, while the “investigation” drags on, rendering someone incarcerated for years before any trial begins. The judiciary, especially at the lower levels, intimidated by the executive bows to the whims of the police and prosecutors thus making a shambles of the entire legal process. Minorities in India, especially the Indian Muslims, enduring an institutional and systematic bias and neglect in all walks of life. Though the Indian constitution bestows equal rights to all its subjects, however, the ground reality is telling completely an opposite story. The Indian Muslims fell victim to communal violence myriads of times since the inception of modern India. Moreover, since Modi’s assertion into the throne, the situation worsened. The purpose of this research was to examine the stance/slant and the magnitude of media coverage given to the deteriorating conditions of Indian Muslims. Two Indian (Times of Indian & Hindustan Time) and two Pakistani (Dawn & The Nation) English dailies were selected for this study based on their circulation and influence in public and the power corridors. The method of content analysis was castoff to fulfill the needs of the study. Six months (Aug 11, 2019, to Feb 11, 2020) of editorial coverage of the said dailies were examined through content analysis. A total of 57 editorials were found published about the deteriorating conditions of Indian Muslims and were examined through content analysis.

KUMARAPANDIYAN AND S. KEERTHIVARMAN Abstract. Cricket is an immensely popular sport around the world. Every day forms of cricketing ethnicity were invisible in every walk of real life and were well represented through diverse forms of media in the wake of the world cup. Analysis of cricket players based on their performance is always a complicated task because of the interrelated character of the variables used to enumerate contributions to the team. Lack of precision of current methods, due to viable confidentiality, creates a necessity for new and transparent evaluative methods. In this paper, the performance of players in the recent international matches, domestic competitions around the globe is discussed and predicting the top performers during IPL 2020 that can be easily adapted to other team sports. 1. Introduction 1.1. CRICKET. Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players on a cricket field, at the centre of which is a rectangular 22-yard- long pitch with a wicket (a set of three wooden stumps) at each end.
