Slalom E-Book Por William T. Endicott Tradução: Luiz A. Merkle – abril de 2006 HISTÓRIA DO SLALOM Por que é importante saber algo sobre a história de seu esporte? Penso que porque ajuda a definir suas metas. Quanto mais você souber sobre como alguém alcançou níveis de excelência no passado, mais fácil saber o que você terá de fazer para alcançar o mesmo no futuro. Veja o que já me disseram: “Eu agora posso puxar no “bench press” 125kg. Esta foi minha meta desde que li no seu livro, na história do esporte, que Juergen Bremer conseguia puxar este tanto.” Bem, era Jon Lugbill falando sobre um livro que escrevi em 1979, “The River Masters”. Jon foi quem ganhou mais medalhas em campeonatos mundiaIs (12) do que qualquer outro atleta na história da canoagem slalom. Nosso esporte até o momento já acumulou uma história relativamente extença. Esta é uma tentativa de, em poucas páginas capturar seus mais relevantes. Resumidamente as competições internacionais de águas brancas iniciaram no início dos anos 20, após várias décadas de prática em descidas de rios. As primeiras competições eram de descida: basicamente uma transferência dos campeonatos de águas calmas para águas brancas. O slalom surgiu mais tarde, mas paradoxalmente foi o primeiro a se disputado na forma de um campeonato mundial. As primeiras navegações em águas brancas consistiam em viagens de balsa através do rios Isar, Enns e Lech 1, durante o século 19. Porém somente quando surgiram os barcos fabricados de madeira e lona 2 tornou-se possível navegar os rios mais difíceis do Tirol e da alta Bavária. -

sloka 2010 Svetovno prvenstvo v kajak kanu slalomu Ljubljana 7. – 12.9. 2010 a.si lok w.s ww POKROVITELJI MEDIJSKI POKROVITELJI Spoštovani udeleženci in obiskovalci svetovnega prvenstva v slalomu na divjih vodah! ast se je družiti z najboljšimi. Najboljšimi kajakaši in kanuisti, ki prihajate s celega sveta. Ni Čjih večjih mojstrov divje vode, kakor ste vi. Ravno zato smo na Kajakaški zvezi Slovenije še kako ponosni, da že v tretje gostimo najboljše krotilce brzic na svetu. Najboljši tekmovalci si zaslužijo tudi najboljše gledalce in ti so v Tacnu stalnica. Navijaške sku- pine, ki jih v našem športu odlikujeta športno obnašanje in medsebojno prijateljstvo, so tacenski ponos, ki predstavljajo za vsakega izmed tekmovalcev, ki tekmujejo na prvenstvu, nepozabno izkušnjo. Najboljši tekmovalci si zaslužijo tudi najboljšo organizacijo. Za to smo poskrbeli skupaj z neumornimi in vedno pripravljenimi prostovoljci, ki jim gre največja zahvala. Žal nam trenutna situacija ni dovoljevala večjih posegov in investicij, to ostaja naš dolg in upamo, da bomo lahko to uredili v naslednjih letih. A vendar upam, da smo pripravili svetovno prvenstvo, ki bo ostalo v lepem spominu vsem ude- ležencem. Nepozabno po dobrem in sproščenem vzdušju, nepozabno zaradi izkazane gosto- ljubnosti in nepozabno po novih prijateljstvih, ki bodo tu sklenjena in bodo trajala še dolgo po zaključku prvenstva v Ljubljani. Daljnega leta 1955 so se na progi v Tacnu prvič zbrali najboljši kajakaši in kanuisti. Prijateljstvo je vodilo, zaradi katerega bo v naslednjih dneh kar nekaj udeležencev prvega svetovnega prvenstva ponovno prišlo v Tacen. Leta 1991 je kajakaše pričakal Tacen v modernejši podobi. Tekmovanja, ki jih je z užitkom sloka 2010 Svetovno prvenstvo v kajak kanu slalomu spremljalo več tisoč ljudi, so bila - naj povem kot zanimivost - zadnja v takratni državi Jugoslaviji. -
