Shirley Rhodes won $77 in our 50-50 st raffle. 1 Vice President’s Corner By Beth Jones Come on, everyone! You gotta play to win!! Getting Ready for Changes in Life

“There are two big forces at work, external and internal. We have very little control over external forces such as tornadoes, earthquakes, floods, disasters, illness and pain. What really matters is the internal force. How do I respond to 1 those disasters? Over that I have complete control.” (Leo Buscaglia)

Officers As for our own circumstances, we can be dragged into a President situation kicking and screaming, or we can approach it with a Emory Volkman, C.P.M., A.P.P. pleasant attitude and thankfulness. The choice is ours. 410-694-5787 Remember that attitudes are better caught, than taught. We [email protected] have the option of making a transition in life a pleasant and peaceful time, or we can make it miserable for every one – First Vice President ourselves included. (Cindy Granke) Beth Jones 240-228-6171 A good time to start preparing your mind about change is [email protected] to fill your thoughts with blessings and enjoy whatever is good in your life now. (Philippians 4:8-9) Other cannot make Second Vice President your life happy. You are the only one who can do that. Your Randy Minnich attitude is what makes you content or discontent. If you haven’t 301-953-2960 nurtured a happy attitude, it will surely let you down when we [email protected] need it later. (Cindy Granke)

Advisory Council Four pieces of advice to a happy life: Ray Nowicki 1) Fight fairly. 410-751-3060 2) Never go to bed mad at anyone. [email protected] 3) Say I love you to someone and really mean it (Friend, spouse, child, parent-anyone). Directors 4) Do things with others that they really enjoy instead of Myles Carpeneto, C.P.M. doing something with that person that you enjoy. 410-455-0277 [email protected] nd Jeanette Sutton 2 Vice President’s Corner 410-998-7626 By Randy Minnich [email protected] It was fitting that on the night we celebrate our former Rose Tringali association presidents, the newsletter contest was to guess the 240-228-2850 number of purchasing years were represented by the members [email protected] in attendance. Even with the largest crowd we’ve had at our meetings all year, the answer might have surprised some of us. Tom Waters 410-568-1574 To facilitate finding out the years of experience for each [email protected] attendee, Sally Barkley handed out forms at each table so members could indicate their names and the number of years of Melvin Burley purchasing experience. In all, we had 1,008 years of experience 410-887-4334 represented at the meeting, from a low of several months to a [email protected] high of 40 years!

Two members tied for the most experience. Both Charles Beckhardt and Barry Levitt have 40 years of experience each! It’s overwhelming to think about the amount of purchasing knowledge they have stored in their brains.

Howard Flynn won the contest with his guess of 1,000 years. In addition to his satisfaction at winning, he received a Committee Chairpersons Corporate Express coffee mug. Attendance & Reception Chair Betsy Monaghan, C.P.M. Many thanks to all who attended and participated in our 410-345-6713 unconventional newsletter contest. I’m looking forward to my [email protected] new role beginning next year as your first vice-president and welcome your support.
