Faraar Is Full Of Thrill, Action & Romance: Gippy Grewal By : INVC Team Published On : 26 Aug, 2015 05:00 PM IST INVC NEWS Jalandhar, ‘Faraar’ will be first ever Punjabi film in which the action you will see the action in huge stage. I am playing double role in the film and to do justice with my both characters, I worked very hard. One character is of an innocent boy, who went to America to study whereas the other one who was already present there is a popular gangster. This film is full of thrill & romance. It is a family entertainer film. All these views are shared by famous singer-actor Gippy Grewal at the promotional event of his upcoming film ‘Faraar’. He said that earlier he had done a dozen of films. The budgets of Punjabi films are increasing day by day and the films made their identity in the whole world due to the best quality served to the viewers. Gippy said that Faraar is made under the direction of Baljit Singh Deo, the whole team had done lot of hard work. Girija Shankar, Kainaat Arora & Jaggi Singh left no stone unturned while shooting. The film under the banner of Sippy Grewal productions is produced by Sippy Grewal & Nitin Talwar. Manmohan Waris, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Jazzy B, Bohemia, Ranjit Bawa and Harshdeep gave their vocals to the music of the film which is superb. Gippy said that he will not here to be bound under a particular role. He wants to do different kind of roles in his career. The actress of film Kainaat Arora said, she felt proud to be the part of this huge project. While doing promotions in the different cities we got good response, support & love from everybody. This film gave me the chance to show my inner acting skills. The villain of the film Jaggi Singh, said that in this film he had a powerful character and trying his best to do full justice with his role. The base of the film is too strong. The film will show every colour – love, career, protest, war. It is a full package film. Producer Sippy Grewal said, the music of the film is released by ‘Saga Music’, which got good response from everywhere. Dept. of Journalism and Mass Communication Doaba College, Jalandhar Abstract The Punjabi film industry is currently in its growth stage. The Punjabis in the Diasporas gave a new dimension to the Punjabi identity. It has brought a massive boost in the cinema and film music. Pollywood in the North Indian film industry is commercial and art cinema Punjabi is in its initial stage. Producers target just clientele and seldom take the risk. Crisp comedy films overpower an experiment in production, rare themes and different genres. The research did a descriptive analysis with the support of unstructured and semi- structured interviews of producers, actors, and Pollywood directors. The research also explores the need and importance of film institute and film clubs to sensitize the Punjabi audiences regarding the film as a medium, film grammar, and aesthetics. The research also focused on the marketing trends and the vital role of social media in multiplexes' age. Pollywood also lacks in skills and availability of high-end studios for post-production. It is the third most spoken immigrant language after Mandarin and Cantonese. Although Canada’s Official Bilingualism policy promotes English and French as official languages, many accommodations are made for immigrant languages such as Punjabi. As a result, it continues to thrive. Due to the close proximity of the two languages, Punjabi commonly makes use of English through code-switching. The use of code-switching is looked at in this thesis through an analysis of Lower Mainland radio and Bhangra music. The data for this project has been collected through listening to and transcribing radio segments and music lyrics.
