  • Understanding the EF Lightning Protection System
E.F. International S.A. benefited from a unique experience in the atmospheric electricity field since the beginning of the 1970s. In 1982, E.F. patented the E.F. Carrier System of Lightning Protection which ensures the lightning protection required by the modern world since this system integrates the E.F. Lightning Carrier that conveys lightning in an electrically hermetic way. The E.F. Lightning Terminal uses the ESE technology. The E.F. Lightning Protection system is the only lightning protection system manufactured with a Quality Assurance System which meets the Swiss Standards SN 029 100 Category A, and is ISO 9001 rated, a standard which includes design/development, production, installation and servicing. The structure of the E.F. Lightning Carrier down conductor ensures the safe conveyance of lightning current from the terminal to the ground without "sideflashing" and "skin effect" which are hazardous to the structure and equipment inside the structure to be protected. It is the only lightning conductor that has incorporated the Transient Absorption Technology (TAT), screening the electromagnetic field due to lightning discharges. Capacitance of the E.F. Lightning Carrier to withstand the high voltage of lightning of 250 kV is certified by the manufacturer, NEXANS. The E.F. Lightning Carrier is flame-retardant allowing internal installation. E.F.'s track record of local installations is a proof of the system's superiority over other brands. E.F. has become a byword in the lightning protection industry, protecting high-rise structures, plants, telecommunication towers, golf courses, etc. In the most lightning-prone countries of the world, its comprehensive network of Licensees is supported by fully qualified professionals with extensive hands-on experience and expertise, a well-trained staff and an efficient sales network.

  • TRADE OPPORTUNITIES in GERMANY for Ukrainian Food Sector
TRADE OPPORTUNITIES IN GERMANY For Ukrainian food sector PART I: OVERVIEW OF THE GERMAN ECONOMY – 2017/2018 Situated at the centre of the European markets, Germany’s optimal geographic location is beyond question: Over half of the EU population lives within 500km of Germany’s borders; more goods pass through Germany than in any other European country; and almost all of Europe is reachable within three hours by air and 24 hours by road. Germany is the largest economy in Europe. It constitutes 21% of European GDP and is home to 16% of the Eus population. Fig.1 Fig.2 The The German economy is both highly industrialized and diversified, with an equal share of GDP output in services and production. Germany’s strong economic performance in recent years has been based on increased domestic demand and high export performance. The economic growth of the German economy continues to be robust and stable. Low Unemployment and real wage value have increased consumer spending. German exports benefit from industrial output that is in high demand in high-growth emerging economies. Wages have been growing moderately while labour unions increasingly negotiated non-wage benefits to ensure a better work life balance that maintain Germany’s high living standards. As an outlook, the continued recovery in the euro area will sustain exports and investment in 2 equipment, whilst private consumption and housing investment may decelerate due to reduced activity on the job market. Basic Economic and Trade Statistics Fig.3 Germany’s recovery from the global financial crisis has been stronger than in the eurozone.

Strategy and Analysis a. Provide a statement from the most senior decision-maker of the organization (such as G4-1 CEO, chair, or equivalent senior position) about the relevance of sustainability to the organization and the organization’s strategy for addressing sustainability. the power of narrative Just like the power we generate has the ability to energize lives, storytelling has the power to connect, engage, and transform us. Storytelling is an intrinsic ability which makes us uniquely human. Throughout time, mankind has shared stories around bonfires, in caves, long before he learned to write or swipe. POWER The power of storytelling lies in its ability to put ourselves in another person’s shoes and vicariously experience life through different eyes. Stories have the amazing ability to weave characters, transport ideas or recreate events in a plane unbound by the limitations of space and time. While the storytelling medium and techniques have changed over time, the core truth remains that human beings are hardwired to tell and listen to stories. EVOLUTION In this Report, TeaM Energy’s story marks a crucial step in the evolution of our company reporting, as we advance to fulfill the latest G4 guidelines under the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), the most widely referenced sustainability framework worldwide. As we continue to pursue opportunities to build our capacity and meet the growing energy needs of the country, we also open more avenues to broaden stakeholder engagement and participation. Through our TeaM Energy Foundation, Inc. (TEFI), we also seek and provide training on biodiversity monitoring among our counterparts in the community, with the aim of strengthening the collaboration and partnership with them in promoting the stewardship and conservation of forest resources.

  • Philippine Edible Insects: a New Opportunity to Bridge the Protein Gap of Resource-Poor Families and to Manage Pests
Cultural and commercial roles of edible wasps in Japan Marketing Wasps are also sold live at the markets during the harvest season in autumn. They are quite expensive at around US$100 per kilogram for an entire nest. Demand is increasing, so wasp foodstuffs are imported from other countries such as Republic of Korea, China and New Zealand and then cooked at the shops where they are sold. Vespa mandarinia is similarly retailed at the same price, but is not being imported yet. Raising Vespula In central Japan, when a colony of Vespula is found at an early stage it will be brought home and set in a wooden hive box. Care is then taken to position the nest where it will be sheltered from the elements. The colony is protected from predators and given food. Hives come in various shapes and sizes, depending on the environment they were found in. A roof is put over the hive to protect it from direct sunlight and the wasps are fed with meat, fish and sugared water (Plate 4). Raising Vespula requires tender care, originality and ingenuity. Plate 4. An example of a protected Vespula spp. hive (Courtesy Kenichi Nonaka) 128 Kenichi Nonaka Group raising of Vespula is becoming popular throughout central Japan and a network of Vespula societies has been established. The people involved recognize the importance of both resource conservation and indigenous knowledge of local customs. Social entertainment A Wasp Festival is held each year, with people competing for the biggest nest, whether raised at home, or collected in the fields or mountains.
