Left-hander Anthony Fernandez (1-2, 5.16 with Clinton, 1-1, 8.22 at High Desert) returns to take his roster spot. Also, catcher Steven Baron was placed on the DL today and outfielder Jabari Blash was sent to short-A Everett. Replacing them are catcher Billy Marcoe from Everett (.153, 3 RBI last season with AquaSox) and outfielder Julio Morban (reinstated from the DL). Rough Night for K-Pax: Left-hander James Paxton yielded a career-high five earned runs on eight hits over 5.1 innings Friday night vs. Bowling Green, losing for the third time in eight starts. Paxton had been 2-1 with a 1.67 ERA (6 ER in 32.1 IP) over his previous six starts dating back to a loss vs. Peoria in his first career professional start on 4/27. Seattle’s fourth-round pick in 2010 is still 2-3 with a rotation-best 2.89 ERA (14 ER in 43.2 IP) and has struck out 60 batters over 43.2 innings for an average of 12.37 K’s per 9.0 IP.
