RF Stefen Romero (4x6, R, 2 2B, 5 RBI) and 3B Carlos Rivero (4x5, 3 R, RBI, BB) combined for 8 hits, while SS Ketel Marte (2x6, R, RBI), 1B Jesus Montero (2x6, 2 R, 2B), LF Franklin Gutierrez (2x5, 2 R, 2 2B, 2 RBI, BB), DH Patrick Kivlehan (2x5, 3 R, 2B, 3 RBI, BB) and C John Baker (2x6, 2 R, RBI) each record 2 of the Rainiers 20 hits. Four of the Mariners top-30 prospects and two of the top-four made the Rainiers Opening Day roster. INF Ketel Marte and OF Patrick Kivlehan check in at No. 3 and No. 4, respectively, and are joined by No. 13 John Hicks (C) and No. 26 Myckol Guaipe (RHP). Since 1960, Tacoma has put together a record of 3984-3960 (.502). The Rainiers record as an affiliate of the Seattle Mariners is 1461-1404 (.510). COACHING STAFF: Pat Listach is in his first season as the Rainiers manager and is the 30th manager in Tacoma history. Listach served as the manager PCL Iowa Cubs in 2002 and 2008, when he was named PCL Manager of the Year. He led those teams to a combined 110-87 (.558) record. He has also manged two seasons in the Southern League with West Tennessee, going 148-130 (.532). Listach spent the 2014 season as the third base coach for the Houston Astros. He has over 20 years of experience in professional baseball as a player, Major League and minor league coach, and minor league manager and coordinator. Prior to last season, Listach was the Los Angeles Dodgers minor league infield coordinator in 2013 and coached on the Major League staffs for the Chicago Cubs (2011-12) and Washington Nationals (2009-10) for two years apiece. Originally drafted by the Mariners in 1987 out of McLennan College, Listach began his 11-year professional career with the Brewers after they drafted him in the fifth round of the 1988 draft. Listach was named American League Rookie of the Year in 1992 after hitting .290/.352/.349 (168x579) with 47 RBI. Pitching coach Jaime Navarro, who is in his 7th season with the Mariners organization and hitting Cory Snyder, who is in his 5th season with the organization, are each in their second season with the Rainiers. Tom Newberg and Tyler Moos are part of the training staff, while Will Lindholm is the team’s performance coach. C Steven Baron (2x3) led the Generals with 2 hits, while 2B Tyler Smith (1x4), 3B Jordy Lara (1x3, BB), CF Julio Morban (1x4) and DH Dario Pizzano (1x2, BB) each recorded 1 of the team’s 6 hits.
