The name was revived in 1959 and retained in the 1971 and 1977 redistributions, though covering a greatly reduced area. Reconstituted in the 1959 redistribution, it was once again abolished in the 1971 redistribution, but re-formed in 1986 from portions of the Peak Downs, Flinders and Whitsunday electorates.
