ORDER:-

The Commissioner of Municipal Administration in his letter second read above, has requested that, in respect of the newly constituted Municipal Corporations of Tiruppur, Erode, Vellore and Thoothukudi, the powers vested with the Government under sub-sections (4), (5) and (6) of section 5 of the respective Corporation Acts and section 51 of the Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation Act, 1981 (Tamil Nadu Act 25 of 1981) may be delegated to the Commissioners of the respective Municipal Corporations.

2. The Government, after careful examination of the above proposal of the Commissioner of Municipal Administration have decided to accept the same and ordered accordingly.

3. The appended Notification will be published in the Tamil Nadu Government Gazette Extraordinary, dated the 12th September, 2011.

APPENDIX NOTIFICATION – I.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 50-A of the Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation Act, 1981 (Tamil Nadu Act 25 of 1981) read with section 8 of the Tiruppur City Municipal Corporation Act, 2008 (Tamil Nadu Act 7 of 2008), the Governor of Tamil Nadu hereby directs that the powers exercisable by the Government under sub-sections (4), (5) and (6) of section 5 of the said Tamil Nadu Act 7 of 2008 and section 51 of the said Tamil Nadu Act 25 of 1981, in respect of the Corporation of Tiruppur, be exercisable by the Commissioner, Corporation of Tiruppur, also.

NOTIFICATION – II.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 50-A of the Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation Act, 1981 (Tamil Nadu Act 25 of 1981) read with section 8 of the Erode City Municipal Corporation Act, 2008 (Tamil Nadu Act 8 of 2008), the Governor of Tamil Nadu hereby directs that the powers exercisable by the Government under sub-sections (4), (5) and (6) of section 5 of the said Tamil Nadu Act 8 of 2008 and section 51 of the said Tamil Nadu Act 25 of 1981, in respect of the Corporation of Erode, be exercisable by the Commissioner, Corporation of Erode, also.

NOTIFICATION – III.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 50-A of the Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation Act, 1981 (Tamil Nadu Act 25 of 1981) read with section 8 of the Vellore City Municipal Corporation Act, 2008 (Tamil Nadu Act 26 of 2008), the Governor of Tamil Nadu hereby directs that the powers exercisable by the Government under sub-sections (4), (5) and (6) of section 5 of the said Tamil Nadu Act 26 of 2008 and section 51 of the said Tamil Nadu Act 25 of 1981, in respect of the Corporation of Vellore, be exercisable by the Commissioner, Corporation of Vellore, also.

NOTIFICATION – IV.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 50-A of the Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation Act, 1981 (Tamil Nadu Act 25 of 1981) read with section 8 of the Thoothukudi City Municipal Corporation Act, 2008 (Tamil Nadu Act 27 of 2008), the Governor of Tamil Nadu hereby directs that the powers exercisable by the Government under sub-sections (4), (5) and (6) of section 5 of the said Tamil Nadu Act 27 of 2008 and section 51 of the said Tamil Nadu Act 25 of 1981, in respect of the Corporation of Thoothukudi, be exercisable by the Commissioner, Corporation of Thoothukudi, also.
