Olympic Committees OLYMPIC COMMITTEES ANOC The Executive Board of the Association of National Olympic Committees met on 7th August 1984 in Los Angeles. The President of the ANOC, Mr. Mario Vazquez Raña, greeted H. E. Mr. Juan Antonio Samaranch, President of the IOC, H. E. Mr. Louis Guirandou N’Diaye, First Vice-President, and the Director of the IOC, Mrs. Monique Berlioux, who honoured the inaugural session with their presence. Following the suggestion of President Samaranch, who wished to have the opinion of the ANOC at the extraordinary Session of the IOC scheduled for the coming December regarding the problems facing Olympism, the Executive Board decided to call the Assembly General of the ANOC on 7th and 8th November 1984, in Mexico, in order to establish the common viewpoint on the present situation within the Olympic Movement and the future of the Olympic Games, as well as to adopt the objectives of the ANOC for the coming years. A working group, composed of representatives of the five continents, was set up, and is responsible for drawing up a basic document for reflection which will constitute the basis for discussion during the Assembly General. Its members are Messrs. Raoul Mollet for Europe, Lamine Ba for Africa, Libertario Perez for America, Anwar Chowdhry for Asia, and Julius Patching for Oceania. The treasurer, Mr. Anselmo Lopez and the Secretary General, Mr. Marian Renke will act as coordinators and will also take part in the group’s work. Hajós Alfréd, az első magyar olimpiai bajnok visszaemlékezésében így írt erről a napról: „Csikorgó hideg volt, de anyám tilalma ellenére elszöktem otthonról. Jóval a verseny kezdete előtt az épülő híd pillérein a legjobb helyet biztosítottam magamnak. Dideregve vártam a versenyt, de azután földöntúli boldogságot éreztem akkor, amikor Földváry diadalmaskodott.     Adopted 3 October 2019 SAFESPORT CODE FOR THE GUAM NATIONAL OLYMPIC COMMITTEE October 2019 I. PURPOSE AND POLICY STATEMENT. The International Olympic Committee (IOC) considers it to be the responsibility of all sporting organizations to develop mechanisms to prevent harassment and abuse in sport. Safeguarding athletes from harassment and abuse is encompassed under the “Protection of Athletes” banner that was in defined in the 2008 Basic Universal Principles of Good Governance of the Olympic and Sports Movement. Pursuant to Recommendation 18 (Strengthen Support to Athletes) and Recommendation 27 (Good Governance) of the IOC’s Olympic Agenda 2020, it is compulsory for organizations that belong to the Olympic Movement to adopt the Basic Universal Principles of Good Governance by taking steps to safeguard athletes from harassment and abuse in sport. The Guam National Olympic Committee (GNOC) and its member National Federations are committed to providing a safe and positive environment that is respectful, equitable, and free from all forms of misconduct for athletes and those working within sport. This Code does not replace or supersede any applicable Guam or federal law, nor does it extend or restrict a person’s right to file charges or claims with any other entity, agency, law enforcement, court, or nation. II. APPLICATION. This Code applies to the following regardless of age, gender, race, or competitive level: A. GNOC employees, contracted staff, volunteers, board members, managers, officials, and other individuals working with athletes or other sport participants while attending or participating in any GNOC-sponsored local or international event, including games and training events (“Flag Event”).
