1. Introduction i. Identification of project and project proponent: The Metal Stone Quarry area is located at Village- Gadarwara, Tehsil & District- Seoni (M.P) 3.50 Ha quarry lease area with production of 25,399 Cubic Meter/Year (Max.) is being operated by the lessee proponent, Shri Nawal Kishore Baghel, S/o Shri Nemisinh Baghel, having residence Lakhanwada, P.O. Bamhodi, Tehsil & District- Seoni(M.P.) 480661. The lease area has been prospected by the Dept. Of Mines & Geology Government of and based on the deposits available, the area was granted for quarry lease for the extraction of Stone. ii. Brief description & nature of the projects: The proposed project area is having Basalt stone throughout the area. Basalt Stone mining will be done by Semi mechanized method with helping of dozing, drilling machine, PC-400 Excavator, blasting, loading and transportation. During the working period total 1.7826 Ha area will be excavated. iii. Need for the project and its importance to the country and or region: The proposed mining project will fulfill its end uses in buildings and construction, bridges, paving, monuments, making of road and many other exterior projects. A total of 20-25 people are employed in this mine. It will create employment (though marginally) for local population. iv. Demand –Supply gap: There is large demand of Crusher stone (Basalt) for road, railway track, building construction etc. v. Imports vs. Indigenous production: There will be no import for the project. There will be indigenous inputs in the entire mining activity. It is low category material and to be procured from local market. No export is feasible. vi. Export possibility: It is low category material and to be procured from local market. No export is feasible.

Unit will use good faith efforts to employ local people from the nearby villages depending upon the availability of skilled & un-skilled man-power surrounding the project site. ix. Topography : Topographically the lease area is a having undulating topography, slope towards SE direction highest elevation of the applied area is 597 mt. above MSL, whereas lowest elevation is 594 mts. Toward SE part of the Q.L area. Difference between highest and lowest elevation of the area is 3m. vii. Location and Accessibility: The lease area is 20.8 km from NW Direction of Seoni. The lease area can be approached by own conveyance.

c. Assessment of infrastructure demand (physical and social) The existing road facilities are already available which shall be used and maintained.The labors requirement is drawn from the nearest villages. Medical facilities are available near the project site, Government and private hospitals and other basic amenities and infrastructure facilities like communication center, school, market, bus stand are also available in Seoni at a distance of 20.8 kms SE. This quarry project will provide employment for about 15 persons directly. d. Amenities/facilities i. Power supply : Electric power supply Line does not exist in the QL area. The nearby villages are electrified. It is not proposed to connect the mine with power supply connection in the near future. ii. First Aid: A first aid facility is proposed at Mines office. iii. Rest Shelter: Rest shelter is proposed near mine site iv. Toilet Facilities: At the mine site Toilet is proposed for staff and labors. 5. Proposed infrastructure a. Industrial area (processing area): Temporary arrangements like site office, rest shelters & approach roads etc shall be provided. No permanent infrastructure is proposed. b. Green belt: The year wise program of eco-restoration for the life of mine, about 400 native trees will be planted in an area of 0.150 Ha of total area 3.50 Ha. Total 0.150 Ha areas which includes barrier zone, quarry periphery, Apart of this approach road, Govt. School & Swasth Kendra will be also used for green belt development.

d. Protection & Monitoring In Plantation: I. Protection of plants is the greatest challenge as villagers and their cattle are likely to damage the plantation before they are established. Hence protection of plantation is of paramount importance. Proper guards will be provided. II. In order to protect the plants from sun burn during summer, jute bags and agro net will be used. III. Adequate and timely monitoring such as soil working, weeding, fertilization and proper irrigation of the planted saplings would be made. The area would be protected from animals until the plants are above the level of damage. Proper monitoring of the plantation will be made. e. Drinking water management (source & supply of water): Drinking water is available in nearby village in Badhi, which is near to the area. f. Sewerage system : No construction or sewage waste is expected from the mining process. g. Connectivity (traffic and transportation road/rail/metro/water ways etc): The lease area can be approached from district head quarter Seoni to Village Gadarwara. The lease area can be approached by own conveyance. h. Industrial waste management: No industrial waste will be generated. i. Power requirement & supply/source: As per the facilities and services, Power is required only for the lighting purpose which is being supplied by the common electric line. The nearby villages are electrified. 6. Rehabilitation and Resettlement (R & R) Plan: There is no habitation/population in the mine lease area, displacement of population and hence Rehabilitation & resettlement is not involved. 7. Project Schedule and Cost estimates a. Likely date of start of construction and likely date of completion (time schedule for the project to be given): The construction work at the mine mainly comprises of construction of access road. The mining shall be started after getting environmental clearances. b. Estimated project cost along with analysis in terms of economic viability of the project. Small level mining activity has been carried out.

4 ENVIRONMENT MANAGEMENT PLAN PARTICULARS MANAGEMENT

Air Quality Excavation,  Dust generated due to drilling, blasting and Loading and vehicular movements will be suppressed by water Transportation spraying on haul road.  To avoid the dust generation from the drilling operations wet drilling method will be practiced.

 Drill machines will be fitted with dust collectors.

 Use of appropriate explosives for blasting.

 Controlled blasting techniques will be practiced.

 Dust mask will be provided to the workers.

 Proper maintenance of vehicles & machineries will be done.

 Water sprinkling on the haul road and other road at regular intervals will be done.

 Speed of the vehicles will be kept within the prescribed limits.

 Dumpers will not be over loaded. Water Quality  Sewage w ill be generated by employing 20 workers in the mine which will be diverted into a septic tank followed by soak pit.

 Garland drains will be made around the mining area to channelize surface run off into natural drainage pit so that it can be utilized for dust suppression.

 Mining operations will be at higher levels; therefore there will be no effect on ground water condition due to mining. Solid Waste  Waste generated during mining operation will be stacked separately in the boundary barrier and will be stabilized by plantation.

 Small amount of domestic waste will be generated for which dustbin will be kept at proper place and it will be disposed properly and regularly.

9. Analysis of proposal (final recommendations) i. Financial and social benefits with special emphasis on the benefit to the local people including tribal population, if any, in the area: No tribal population is residing in the study area. There will be social benefits from the mining operations. The core benefit of the proposed expansion is the availability of stone for development project.
