Sport at St John’s How important is it in your life? We asked - Do you like playing sport? YOU SAID –YES WE DO!! Do you go to any sports clubs? • 64 children belong to sports clubs. Most of these are football teams but we also have members of tennis and swimming clubs, as well as horse-riding, karate and dance. Team sport or Individual? • Team – 59 (48%) • Individual – 41 (34%) • Both – 22 (18%) Sport and your family • A lot of our children play sport with other members of their family including going swimming, or for a bike ride, a game of cricket, football or tennis. Which football team do you support? • ARSENAL - 55 fans • TOTTENHAM – 17 • MANCHESTER UNITED – 12 • LIVERPOOL – 9 • WEST HAM– 3 Have you watched sport live or on TV? • A lot of children have been to watch football live at the Emirates Stadium, White Hart Lane, Old Trafford, Wembley and Barnet. Some children went to the Olympics or Paralympics. • Nearly all the children watch sport on television. Sporting Heroes Is there a new sport you’d like to try at school?
