ADMISSION DISCOUNT AND EXTENDED HOURS OFFERED TO CARDINALS FANS

CANTON, OHIO – The Pro Football Hall of Fame is inviting fans traveling to Northeast Ohio this weekend to stop by the world renowned sports museum. The Cardinals take on the Browns at First Energy Stadium on Sunday. The Hall of Fame is located just 50 minutes south of Cleveland.

Any Cardinals fan dressed in team gear who mentions the Cardinals discount to the Hall’s guest services staff will receive a $5 discount on regular museum adult, senior or child admission prices. The promotion runs from Friday, Oct. 30 through Monday, Nov. 2. The Hall of Fame is open from 9 am to 5 pm and will extend its hours to 8 pm for Cardinals fans on Saturday.

Cardinals in Canton

Fans can enjoy many artifacts related to the Cardinals, one of two original NFL franchises that still exist in the league today. The franchise began in , moved to St. Louis in 1960 before relocating to the Grand Canyon State in 1988.

The Hall of Fame Gallery is home to the Bronzed Busts. In all, there are 12 longtime members of the Cardinals franchise who have been enshrined into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

There are six other Hall of Famers who spent a brief portion of their careers with the team: (1927-28, Class of 1965); (1929-1933, Class of 1966); Earl “Curly” Lambeau (1950-51, Class of 1963); (1973, Class of 1987); (2003-04, Class of 2010); and (1928, Class of 1963).

Among other mementos on exhibit in the Hall include the Cardinals Bill of Sale in 1929; a 1959 telegram that reported the Cardinals trade of of Ollie Matson to the in exchange for nine players; the helmet worn by Dan Dierdorf; and gloves worn in 2013 by when he became the first since the AFL-NFL merger to have a pass completion and reception in the same game.

Two Cardinals milestones from this season were recently placed on display. They include the shirt from Jen Welter who became the first female coach in NFL history. In addition, the jersey and cleats from David Johnson are on exhibit in the “Pro Football Today’ Gallery. The mementoes are from the Cardinals game against the on Sept. 20 when the rookie became the first player ever to record a receiving, rushing, and kickoff return in his first two career games.

Gridiron Glory will be at the Bullock Texas State History Museum from Sept. 26, 2015-Jan. 3, 2016 and is scheduled for three-month stays at various museums and cultural institutions through 2019. Enshrinees from the Class of 2015 along with numerous other Hall of Fame members will receive the spectacular Hall of Fame Ring of Excellence by Kay® Jewelers during ceremonies held in NFL stadiums during 13 of the 17 weeks of the 2015 NFL regular season. The Hometown Hall of Famer™ program presented by Ford honors Hall of Fame heroes with a program and permanent plaque to honor the Hall of Famer’s hometown support. Now in its 4th year, the US Army-Pro Football Hall of Fame Award for Excellence honors 20 high school students nationally for excellence in community service, academics and athletics. Construction on HOF Village, a $476 million development project, is under way in Canton to transform the Hall of Fame’s campus.
