Wednesday October 28th Assemble at Marco Polo airport, Venice, for 11am departure on coach to La Malcontenta. 11.00 Depart for private visit to La Malcontenta. Our private Guide will accompany us and give an introduction to during the drive to the Villa.

Lunch at Mira Trattoria dall’Antonia. Drive to Verona. Stay at Hotel Due Torri, Piazza Sant’Anastasia.

Afternoon at leisure 6.30 Drinks and Introductory talk by Guide

7.45 Dinner in the hotel

Thursday October 29th VERONA 9.00 Walking tour of the center of Verona to include the Church of Sant’Anastasia, the Arche Scaligere, the Piazza dei Signori, Piazza delle Erbe, the Arena and the Castelvecchio Gallery 12.15 Leave by bus for Villa La Valverde for a visit and lunch privately.

3.15 Return to Verona Visit the Church of San Zeno

Dinner independently Friday October 30th VERONA 8.45 Leave by bus for Vicenza 10.00 Visit the Teatro Olimpico – superb creation of Palladio and his pupil Scamozzi Visit the main square and see the exterior of several of Palladio’s buildings including the Palazzo del Capitaniato and the Basilica Continue by bus to Villa La Rotonda (model for Jefferson’s Monticello) 12.00 Visit the exterior and the interior by special permission of the owner. 1.15 Lunch privately at Villa Valmarana ai Nani by kind arrangement with the owner. Visit the Villa and the Foresteria (frescoes by Giambattista and Giandomenico Tiepolo) Return to Verona

Dinner independently Saturday October 31st ASOLO(with Padua visit on the way) 8.45 Leave (with luggage) for Padua Refreshments at the 19th century Caffè Pedrocchi Visit the (frescoes by Giotto, the Church of the Eremitani (fragments of the Mantegna frescoes) Walk through the Piazza dei Signori 12.45 Lunch in a restaurant Visit the Basilica of St. Anthony and see Donatello’s equestrian statue of “Gattamelata” Continue to Asolo to the Hotel Villa Cipriani

8.00 Dinner in the hotel Sunday November 1st ASOLO 9.30 Leave for Possagno Visit the Museum dedicated to Canova with the Cast Gallery designed by Carlo Scarpa and see the Mausoleum Continue to Thiene 1.00 Lunch privately in Castello di Thiene by kind arrangement with owner Visit the 15th century castle and see one of the early editions of Palladio’s Four books of Architecture and see the beautiful stables Return to Asolo with a brief stop in Bassano del Grappa Dinner independently

Monday November 2nd ASOLO 9.15 Leave for at Maser for a private visit of the interior (frescoes by Veronese) and exterior of the Palladian villa Continue to the walled city of Castelfranco , native city of the painter Giorgione Visit the Cathedral and see the altarpiece by the painter Continue to Fanzolo 11.45 Visit Villa Emo designed by Palladio and frescoed by Zelotti Return to Asolo
